Great Pete Dye course. Layout and water views and strategy abound. Fairways and areas around green have a lot of Poa but that’s hard to control anywhere. Greens were a bit slow but that helps with undulating slopes in greens and makes it less penalizing. Overall a nice course and great bang for your buck.

Great layout but they are transitioning to new geeens and doing a lot of work around the entire course
I would wait to play and hope rates aren’t outrageous when they reopen I’m excited for the reopening
I am upset they took down the tree on the left on 12 by water / fairway left edge but most other changes seem good

Course is failed fun and greens were pretty good They are replacing the greens with Bermuda soon Owner was very friendly His wife made some cookies that were delicious ! Enjoyed my round

Great Mike Strantz design Every hole is fun Love this course more and more every time I play it Greens are better but still not great Other than that no complaints

This course looks wide open but is tight in spots and enough trouble around to keep you interested It’s not worth a long drive but if you live around there it’s a great value course and greens were in good shape

Have to give it 5 stars The one thing holding it back for so long was the cart paths and they are mostly redone and in the process of fixing the rest. They redid some bunkers and there is really not much you can say bad about the course. Friendly staff Nice greens (although rolled slow the last two times I played it ) Elevation / views and fun holes. New carts are nice as well. Worth the drive.

This course is well kept and fun. Bent grass greens in pretty good shape especially considering it’s summer time. Some ball marks but that’s because people are not always considerate golfers. I recommend this course to anyone that asks.

This is a great Mike Strantz track So fun So crazy and always worth the trek if the greens are in good shape. Unfortunately that is not always the case
Fairways are good and tee boxes are hit and miss but the greens were not great again. The 90+ degree heat had been hitting early this year Hopefully they put in champion or mini verde Bermuda greens one day and make this the bucket list course it could be

Great track with bad greens The bent grass greens can’t handle the heat and they get real bad this time of year. Not sure how they fix without going Bermuda but bent grass is ideal in the right climate
Should be good again in the late fall

Not quite there yet But will be so nice next summer Redo is well don’t

Great Mountain Course
Very scenic and lush
Pace of play can vary from fast to slow
Great views and a break from
The heat. I would recommend the drive once a summer

This is a great course ...so fun. Mike Strantz was a great course designer I love this course the more I play it Not as in good shape as Tobacco Road or Caledonia but great bang for your buck and a must play for Strantz fans ! Enjoy the ride

Nice course Lots of elevation and fun routing.
Greens are firm
And the clubhouse and staff are very friendly
I would recommend this course if you don’t mind the hour drive from Charlotte

Course is in great shape right now. Holes are fun and challenging Big greens so be sure to narrow your focus with approach and pitches.

Elevation change and very friendly staff all make this place worth the drive

Nice course Good layout and great elevation and views Course condition is average.
bunkers are being worked on at the moment but with Covid and no rakes on most courses it didn’t factor in.
I would def play again

This course always in good shape. Not very busy and feels like you are in the middle of nowhere. Worth the extra drive in my opinion

Great holes And layout No where near a PGA championship conditioned course but the holes are fun Greens were sanded when I played so that took away from it but overall-its a nice course. Fairways were mediocre and bunkers were nice and newly redone. It’s a great course that just need some a little more $ and tlc
