My overall rating is poor! The tee boxes & sand traps where the best part of this course. The fairways are in need of WORK. They are very bad. The greens are hard, have crab grass growing on most of them and I would rate them lower than a public course.
Our round of golf today was truly not enjoyable.

I have played this course 8 times since relocating to the area in early summer. I am confused about the message I get at Patuxent Greens and here is why. The staff is professional and friendly. The course has always been in good or very good condition. The pricing is reasonable for the experience. So, why does the management team allow golfers to wear "JEANS"? And for that reason I am confused. It shows a lack of respect for this great game of golf.

I get a mixed message from any golf course which allows a player to wear "JEANS". My question is WHY?

The value was great and the course has a very good layout. I will play this course on my next to Florida for SURE,

The cart ball/club washer did not have water & the divot replacement plastic jug did not have anything inside.
Also, with the heat & humidity yesterday three water jugs where empty. NOT GOOD.

The sand traps need WORK!
Greens on the front good but the greens on the back where slow.

The staff was excellent accommodating Course layout was good and fun to play. But, the greens need a lot of HELP. There was crab green on "every green" and not enjoyable to be putting through those areas on each green.

The course was in very good course which was in excellent condition.
Only negative I have is not enough yardage markers

Clinchview was in very good conditions. It has a very good layout where you have to move the both ways. Only two issues: no water on the course & OB markers in between adjacent fairways without notification on the scorecard or tee box.
I would recommend this course to fellow golfers!

I have played this course a dozen times and Sunday was the slowest play. My group waited 17 minutes passed our tee time because there was not enough carts for the number of players. In fact, there were 4 or 5 groups waiting for carts. NOT GOOD.

Excellent layout & challenging. Green's speed was slightly fast with breaks from almost every angle to the hole. I would most definitely play this course AGAIN.

The course has a very nice layout & challenging. The fairways are in need of immediate attention. They are in fair condition. But, the greens are in very good conditions.

1st time playing this course was a real challenge because no course lay out on the scorecard or at each hole. The greens where is fair condition and not consistent, Pace of play on the back was not good - very slow & we waited every SHOT. I did not see a ranger throughout our 18 holes to move the groups along -- on a Sunday afternoon!

The layout of this course is very nice. It has both right and left doglegs. The tee boxes and fairways were is very good condition. The ruff was thick but still playable. However, the greens were poor. They are very hard, do not hold a sand or lob web from 50 yards. Other than the condition of the greens this course is a descent challenge.

For this time of year the course was in average conditions except the greens. I rate the greens in poor conditions due to the fungus/disease I found on several. Number 18 was the worst of the bunch.

The course was in good condition for this time of year, especially the greens. The pace was very good as I played in less than 3 1/2 hours.

Very good value, friendly staff and enjoyable course layout.
Only negative - a few greens on the back nine need work.

I played this course many times several years ago. I drove down from Baltimore with my son to what I expected and remembered as a very, very good course and was totally disappointed. I would not recommend this course to anybody @ any cost.

Recently the greens where irrrtated but still in good conditions and fairly fast. I would definitely play this course again.
