Have been in the area and found this course by searching on the Internet. I was pleasantly surpirsed by what I found. Driving in I was concerned since it was in the middle of nowhere. As I approached the property I was pleased to see plantings and workers working on the entrance to make it look nice. Upon checking in and heading to the first tee I discovered a course in great condition and great variety of holes. Far from a boring track, each hole brought some unique play into the game. While there was ample fairway any wide slice or snap hook could result in trouble but it was very fair. The greens were very nice although there were more ball marks than there should be. I was told they were aerating soon so perhaps that's why there were many unrepaired marks on the greens.
All in all, a great course to visit. I would recommend it.

We used to play this course almost every visit to Florida. It fell off the list a couple of years ago as we felt the conditions were falling off a bit. We decided to give it a try again after reading some decent reviews. The greens were a real treat. They are now Champions Bermuda so no overseeding to deal with. They were very playable. A lot of bunkers were recently refinished with fresh sand and while somewhat soft will be incredible once they get rained in and settled. It's always nice to see the friendly fox squirrels running around but be aware they will steal anything left in the cart!!!
We finished the day with a bite to eat in the restaurant and bar room and had wonderful service from the bartender and got to meet the manager. I have to say this was a very pleasant location to play and enjoyed the round.

I have loved this track since it was opened. I play it on every visit to the Orlando area. Over the course of the years I have seen the conditions vary a lot. This trip was interesting in that I found the fairways and tee boxes to be in great shape but was a little disappointed in the greens. Some Orlando courses use that new type of Bermuda that does not need to use rye grass in winter. Providence uses over-seeded rye which was very thin on some greens and the dormant Bermuda was VERY thin underneath. Made for tricky and inconsistent putting. Based on what other area premium courses charge, I would suggest the cost is fair. Perhaps recent cold weather impacted it this winter.

I decided to add my thoughts and provide a review to help others like me. I booked for my group but we were driving down from Lakeland so knowing it was an hour drive hoped we would feel the effort was worth it. We were pleasantly surprised.
We were greeted by the staff at the front desk with a smile and a LOWER COST. The booked cost was $10 higher but they volunteered the lower cost. That AMAZED me right there. They mentioned 2 greens had a small problem area but that the flags were located in the good areas. They were indeed and allowed for smooth putts all around. Overall course conditions were excellent and the greens putted mid speed.
Pace of play was fine and had no issue completing the round in under 4 hours.

We had played this course prior and always enjoyed it. We were very pleased to see the conditions were even better despite being in full summer mode. (IE: Bermuda all around.)
This course is wonderful to play assuming the correct tee box is chosen for your game. The landing areas are generous off the tee and the greens are designed fairly and putt true.
Food was excellent after golf with the staff attentive and friendly.
Look forward to playing it again in the future.

What can one say about Stoneybrook West. It is truley one of the Orlando area values. No, it is not a pristiine gem but certainly is always above avergage conditions and nice track for the values prices they provide.
Greens are rarely in poor shape and putt very true. A nice mix of easier as well as tougher holes. A great drivers course in that there are not many holes which require a perfect drive.
Despite some VERY wet conditions this summer they have kept the course in shape.

The layout at LBV is very nice. We always try and play one round there each of my visits to Florida. I did have one issue. I spend the winters living in Florida but maintain a Connecticut drivers license.
They refused to let me take the Resident rate despite being with 2 friends living there who vouched for me.
I have never been challenged like that so people must be abusing the resident rates. The course was wet due to the extremely wet summer this year and it was cart path only. But this did not detract from the fun we typically have there.
The track there can be a challenge if played from the wrong set of tees but the layout is great.

The greens at this course were phenominal. Very consitant and quick. Fariways were a little thin but I am sure this was due to the time of year (between summer and winter seasons) where overseeding hasn't yet taken hold.
The track was very friendly and challenging in a fair way. No hole had an intimidating feel. Wide landing areas allowed for a fun round of driving.
