Chicopee Woods Golf Course - Village Nine
Played On 08/22/2021Six Hour Round Inexcusable
Chicopee Woods is one of my favorite courses to play in this area. But having to wait every shot makes for a bad golf experience. The course should have something posted that the Men's Golf Asso is playing a stroke tournament on Saturday and Sunday. I was told Saturday was just as bad as far the time it took to play. There is no excuse for these MGA golfers to act like they are tour players grinding over each shot. On numerous holes, there would be four groups playing. Rangers were no help when we brought the slow play issue up. I know they are volunteers but it is your job to keep the pace of play moving. Even the pros get warnings for slow play. A suggestion to the Pro Shop is that maybe these tournaments should be played in the late afternoon to avoid future slow play issues. I will continue to play the course but will be checking to see if there is an event scheduled the day I plan to play. Six hour rounds are no fun!!!

This is always in great shape. The course superintendent and his crew should be commended for their work. Pace of play on Sunday morning was a little slow but not bad. I would blame the rainy weather for that. Overall, it was a good round of golf. Chicopee doesn’t disappoint.
