On Wed 3/8 Robbers had fast greens, firm fairways, and was in excellent condition.
This has always been a favorite of mine however the last couple seasons I felt as though the maintenance of the course was not what it once was. Yesterday was the best course conditions I’ve experienced here in a number of years. 👍👍

If you appreciate golf history then this is a no brainer.
The course harkens back to just before the turn of the 20th century. The setting is a quiet farmland with abundant space and wonderfully true greens.

Be sure to take time to ask about the course history. You will be happy you made the trip to such a cool place.

Once again Old South was in fantastic condition.
If you are in the Hilton Head/Bluffton area this course is a must play. Compared to most of the public accessible courses in the area value is second to none.

The old saying, “You get what you pay for”
There are a number of positive things about Eagle Point. Unfortunately the condition of the golf course is not on of them.
• saturated fairways on a day where there had not been any significant rain in over four days
• bunkers that were at best, under construction, but virtually unplayable in almost every area of the course.
• greens that had weed growth on them

I cannot in good conscience recommended spending the money to play here. There are too many courses in the area where for $10 to $20 more your playing experience would be exponentially more enjoyable.

Hopefully things will get better soon but for now I would avoid playing here.

The conditions were excellent. Some surprising damp areas but not in places that impacted good golf shots.
With COVID-19 keeping people away the course was wide open and was able to zip around in just over 2.5hrs

The only complaint is that the bugs around the driving range are awful. After 7 or so warm-up shots I had to get away from the infestation. No issues at all on the golf course.

Love the layout of this course. The way the trees frame the fairways and the fairways wind left and right make tee shots a scenic pleasure. Also challenging! The course is greening up very nicely, played it for days ago and today the fairways were much greener and more pristine that they were four days ago. The greens were also much quicker, rolling nicely and smoother. All in all a great day.

I have always loved the layout of this course. It’s challenging yet very fair and when it’s in top shape as pretty as any on the island. The only bummer this spring is it’s only in average shape. The greens were rolling great but the tee boxes, fairways and ruff were below expectations.
It’s the second Heritage owned property I’ve played this trip. The same type of conditions existed at both
I also played three non Heritage owned properties and their conditions were noticeably nicer. I’d come back again because It’s a great golf course but I’d hope for better next time.

I have played this course many times over the last 25 years. Unfortunately the overall course conditions were not as good as the use to be. The greens were great, fairways and tee boxes were below standard compared to years past. Too many bare spots and not well maintained debris wise.
I also found the starter SHOUTING last names around the cart area to assemble groups to be a little gruff for HHI standards. There are a number of better more refuned approaches for pairings to be staged to tee off.

The layout is very enjoyable. The course is challenging but a very fair test. It’s the way a resort course should be. There is risk/reward and what you is in front of you is what you get, no blind shots that make you wish you hit a different club as a first time player on the curse.

The freeway noise on the first four holes is really horrible. After that you can settle in and enjoy the course.
I'd love to see a stronger effort to plant some new trees and add some othe more defining features to the holes.
Lets face it... we played on February 23rd in 65degree sunshine!!! Although the greens haven't been touched in months we could still putt and the ball rolled VERY well. Fantastic Afternoon!!!

Always fun, great atmoshere... There's a great camraderie around the clubhouse.
Rounds can be REALLY slow but that's just part of the reality of a course that gets this much play.

This is a great tradition layout the provides all the length you can handle. It's very scenic and interesting.
The winter was pretty tough on some of the fairways and the greens are running pretty slow but it's only the first week of May.
It would be nice if patrons would fix ball marks and rake their bunkers.

It's so nice to see this course is being cared for again. Before the demise it was one of my favorites, now it's near the top again. The fairways are great the greens are very nice and rolling true. Almost all the bunkers have been completely restored. Really great to have this local gem back on top.
The back nine for airplane lovers provides some of the best final approach viewing in the area.
Play it... You will go back again.
