Under the radar

This golf course is one of those great courses that sneaks under the radar and is a superb test of golf. It has a great mix of par 3's and 4's with there being no par 5's on the course although the 3rd and 13th feel like par 5's.

Played here with my son and his friend, the course was quite quiet, course was in very good condition for the time of year. I have played a lot of private courses that do not come up to the standard of this municipal golf course, only downside is the poor quality and lack of sand in the bunkers.

Overall, good value for money and it is obvious the green keeping staff are making great efforts to improve and maintain the course. Friendly, courteous and helpful staff in the pro shop/starters.

Enjoyable Canmore

This course was a bit of a surprise. very good test of golf and probably the best greens that I've played on in 10 or more years. To putt well on this course you need the imagination of Bernhard Langer and as David Feherty would say "you need the touch of a gay florist" Even with the amount of rain that has fallen recently the greens are still fast.
Alex, the course manager was very welcoming and my brother and I had something to eat in the comfortable clubhouse that allows for panoramic views of the course and beyond.
I had never heard of "Canmore" until I uncovered the course on a list as part of a google search. I intend to return in the summer to experience the greens at a superfast speed and when the rest of the course hasn't had to cope with the amount of rainfall experienced recently. The course plays every inch of it's yardage.and when clubbing I would recommend adding at least 1 or 2 clubs more to your intended shot.

Kerr Bears

We had a good welcome from the starter (Robin?)
Took my son to Kinghorn as I thought this was a good course for him to play as he has just started to show an interest in the game. The course was in good condition and a fair test of your game. As first time players of the course it was difficult to navigate our way around the course, especially the holes with a shared fairway, but still a very enjoyable course.and very good value for money.
The off course facilities for a visitor are extremely poor. I think the area that is used may have been a broom cupboard, but thy have somehow manged to
squeeze a bench and a shower in (LOL)
I will have fond memories of playing Kinghorn, the only aspect of the day that didn't fully co-operate was the weather and some hot food on site.
