...an alert about AERATION...that the entire course was closed for 5/17 and 5/18(opening at noon, had a 12:10 pm tee time)...made an hour + drive, one way, most disappointing upon arrival...to see ONE other car...

Big signs on the PRO SHOP and ON the CARTS (apparently)...but no email or call from course or alert on the BOOKING SITE...

So, played anyway and ran in to the basketball like greens...and found them to be in need of water...rock hard in some cases...sand puffs on other green landings...working hard to get to the green, and yet, not be able to score with good putting...made the round a bit more frustrating...

Having said this all, this course WILL get better over the next few weeks with rain, course crew, and time all contributing to the progress...but, do be aware to CALL AHEAD first...

Winds were in the high teens and raged on through out the round...while drying the fairways and greens, the impact of recent rains is still being felt...
Cart path only made it an interesting round ...with the winds only making it more interesting...seeing the greens be lightning fast...took us three holes to get the rhythm and by then the scorecards were a mess...will be back for sure...always a great place to play and the folks are tops

...and to be able to play a course in this good shape with not much more than Mother Nature lending a hand, was a treat.

Sure there are some tapped out tee boxes, but remember that is a sign of PLAY...and PLAY translates into FELLOW golfers also enjoying the course...

In the regular season, this course can be a beast when they tinker with the flag placement...but for now, two putt limit due to a number of frozen greens just allows everyone to benefit what golf gives us...a time to be social, chat with perhaps a golfer not in your group...and be away from the TV/Radio where it seems all that is being reported is how each side dislikes the other...wonder if they could be less petulant, and do some work that is positive...fwiw...HAPPY NEW YEAR...

Normal Frost Delay impact on initial starting times, backed up about 45 minutes, and by the time I was due on tee, it was down to 25 minutes...GREAT JOB by staff/starter...

Course is in great shape, and if you try to book a tee time in the future, while the weather permits ...do it EARLY...starter himself could NOT book a personal tee time for later in the week...

Course challenge in any weather, testing all clubs, and depending on pin placements(They have been know to be as "evil"(LOL) as three feet away from the top fringe on the already nasty 18th...but, that is why we all play

Best endorsement...nothing but smiling faces as golfers we passed in both directions were just happy to be playing...so, book early, enjoy the walk, and the social time golf presents, albeit, Wear that danged Mask!...HAPPY NEW YEAR

... course over all, conditions, were very good, what with must have been a very active past spring/summer/fall seasons...
...with shorter day light hours, might have made sense to put our two some with another two some rather than letting a foursome go in between(turns out, 2 of 4 were on their first time on a course and other twosome let us jump)
...pin placement and greens can be, challenging...or, perhaps, just ...evil...LOL...those who have played here before know, the 18th is two tiered, sloped hard right to left...and the greens were...well rolled-->mega quick
PLAY IT...just expect a lot of TWO PUTTS...no gimmes allowed...LOL

...chill passed as the sun rose...the mega leaf blowers were out and the fairways just a delight...yes, one can lose a ball if you get near the piles on the side.....

...remnants of the FALL foliage still visible on back 9 and course with all the lack of rain was just right...

...the aeration from back when ever seems to have finally grown in(played about 10 days ago) and the ball rolled true...with the nuances all around the cup to the ball and back, thing TWO putt and you will be fine..
...will absolutely try to get one more round in this season if the weather permits...

The drought is STILL impacting golf courses, and this course has done an exceptional job of managing its impact...the aeration occurring in the past several weeks continues to struggle and impacted many many putts from all four players...as the golf ball often looked like a basketball being dribbled ...the fairways are marvelous...just wish fellow golfers would repair their divots...use two or three tees if you dont have the repair toold...cant wait to play it again...oh, and do bring your camera along, the view at this time of year, on the BACK NINE will...keep you warm in the long cold winter...

Very unusual weather circumstances for October...thought it was Halloween...there was a FOG that was so thick, we could not see the fairways or greens...but, as a foursome, maybe we should all play in these conditions...did not MISS any in the first four holes...and pitching was a challenge as well...but, once the fog lifted, the golf universe gave us the rainbow and clearly a story that will be long remembered...and the course...just outstanding for this time of year, with the lack of rain and amount of play...just go and enjoy playing it...

The 'condiiton' is a function of the extended drought we have had...and the nasty impact on the course...when dead center drives hit the fairway, roll, 30-50 yards that tells one just how hard the ground is...and most of these ended up on the edge of the fairways...as far as any good/normal pitch/chip shots holding the greens...not happening...putting off the green, from the fringe, worked best...

Putting, as mentioned on Sundays US OPEN commentary, saw reflections on the green, meaning super fast...a mere whisper, and you were 6 feet past the hole...entire state needs rain...

Finally, I joined a resident threesome, that took off before my tee shot landed...and one of them was just learning the game...and struggled mightily...this is NOT a course for the beginner...

No risk reward on any shot the entire round...the pin placements, were #4, but defended with slopes, so one would need a POP up to try to hold the green...

Wind was definetly impacting

From PRO SHOP forward...kudos to him and the grounds crew...just dealing with the drought alone, and then arriving at each green to see the quality of their work...just a great job...

Pricey for 9 hole course if playing 18 with a cart...

Would urge all players to please fix divots...and when possible, allow faster players through...

Will play again when I can use discounts...

Course conditions, when factoring in lack of rain and surge in new golfers is just amazing...greens fast...fairways in great shape...staff on point...just one of the better courses one will find...play here again for sure...Do wish the PRO shop at check in and the starter would remind folks to FIX YOUR DIVOTS...particularly since the newbies seem to not know they can use 2-3 tees if need be to fix the divot...

At this time of year, (late summer) one can expect, under NORMAL play levels(keep in mind, the surge of 15%+ of new golfers also impacts activity level-and the newbies NOT fixing divots etc), that the tee boxes and greens would be under great duress...add in the drought conditions, and the course becomes a reflection

...the tee boxes, were well used...and need a rest, even with rotation of pins...

The Greens were like putting on glass...extremely well maintained and rock solid...still filling in from the aeration done recently though made for interesting last minute turns in front of the cups

Fairways in decent shape, but again, in need of some attention (back 9 mostly)...but still staying on them makes it the goal...

Overall, comparing to other courses nearby, its current condition might rate a B...there are other courses that are a D...others an A

...this IS worth the money regardless, since it is one of the prettier courses around, and if you can putt on glass, you will do well...best look to play in the future after a bit more rain...

WILL BE BACK...been coming here for years, and know the grounds crew works hard for us all...

SAFETY OF GOLFER or CHILDREN in the name of PROFITS is the theme...
1.Welcomed with a THIRTY DOLLAR SURCHARGE if wanting to ride solo...but NO SOCIAL DISTANCING being considered for TWO people from SEPARATE HOUSEHOLDS..ANd of course, YOU HAD TO WEAR A MASK to ENTER the pro shop....fortunately we had masks and...
played...sort of...
2. The TEE boxes were aerated...the GREENS were aerated...except at the time of booking, NOTHING noted, else would never have booked the course.
3.PLUGS from the tee boxes and greens were all around the cart paths and what might be considered 'rough'...had three shots be influenced/deflected during round
4.CART PATHS ...saw many with large/deep/dangerous pot holes and several looking actually washed out and NO ATTENTION TO FIXING
5. PREFERRED lies almost everywhere on the fairways, roughs(if you could find em), and when hitting a nice chip/pitch up to the green, you saw a PUFF of sand where it landed/died....
6. PUTTING was severely impacted since it is clear they have NOT swept the sand into the aeration holes...so while working to make good shots, was like watching a bouncing ERRANT basketball...
7."GOLF CAMPERS" being shuttled by driver, with one child seated, one on each side, and two where the bags would go on GOLF CART PATH WHILE ADULTS are playing...oh, and NO MASKS TO BE SEEN on EE or children...
8.. "GOLF CAMPERS" being given lunch with NO SOCIAL DISTANCING for seating...yet, where is the concern for their safety...if the schools wont open, how is this okay?
9. Half the grounds crew clueless about letting players, play through by stepping aside/signalling players they acknowledge presence...

The WALKING price earlier in the year was what other courses were charging for single riders when that became available...yet, it seems there is no monies being put into the course even after losing a competitor two years ago...

WILL share the "news" about the surcharge when the next rounds are played...and the lack of safety for the golf campers...

From the bag drop where your clubs are mounted on your cart, to the Pro shop the experience just begins...once checked in, the practice BUNKERS, CHIPPING GREENS, PUTTING GREENS, and DRIVING RANGE are at your disposal to warm up...all included...

Then, once on the course, you might want to remember your phone for some great vistas...imagine what it would be in the Fall...

Class all the way...could not ask for more...and YES, the restaurant is serving with ...PROPER social distancing...

Only got half a round in, due to rains...the Pro shop worked with me and provided direction and confidence on being able to work through the 18 hole course...and between Pro Shop contact and GOLF NOW...worked it all out...

Not going to be hard to see, once you try one of the two courses, why this facility is, WITHOUT A DOUBT, one of the BEST in MASS...

If you get to play it in the coming FALL season, bring your phone/camera, there are some great vistas to keep you company when the snows come...

Play either of the courses!!!

Just a great course, still working on it as we played...just need ALL N.E. Courses to get some beneficial rain...all of them are showing stress on the fairways...

This course will soon turn absolutely beautiful on the back 9 with the Fall Foliage and vistas...

Greens quirky but readable...need to know your club strength and weakness'...

When I arrived, was told we could tee off but NOT for 19 as GOLF NOW receipt showed, but only 9. Put the Pro on the spot, since he stated there was a GOLF LEAGUE starting at the time estimated we would make the turn...

Fortunately, we WERE able to get the back nine in, but only due to the overall outstanding effort of the staff...deserving tons of KUDOS...

Not so for GOLF NOW...seems, when they force TEE TIMES for COUPON USE BEYOND 12 noon...they forget the usage IS, very limiting...due to COURSES commitments to LEAGUE PLAY...Perhaps, just perhaps, GOLF NOW might realize that LEAGUE play in a key component of golf course revenue ...

Staff worked through a problem with GOLF NOW not sending reservation...other two golfers matched up with had same problem...so GOLF NOW-GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!!!

Course was just amazing considering the drought we are in...soon to be remedied in part with some rain from TS ISAIAH...

Great place to play...

Course in great shape, considering all the courses are in need of a good rain storm to help the grass recover...the tees, fairways and greens are in good shape with the greens still able to provide DIVOTS on high shots coming in and were their usual fast pace...every hole does challenge your course management and club selection...enjoy it for the gem it is...
