Great course for walking.

this is a good course to enjoy a walk and loosen up. Nothing to challenge the more serious golfers, except the 5th hole which challenges you to cut the corner and try for a birdie. Three par 3s give you a chance to test your precision, and help speed the pace of play.

Retains a goid deal of water

This is a very walkable 9 hole course, either with a pull cart or a carry bag. It's a municipal course, with not too challenging a layout, although the blue and white tees force a carry over the water on 9. The yellow and red do not. The greens are fairly easy.

It holds a great deal of water on the lower fairways after heavy rainfall. Maintained well enough, and a good value for anyone wanting to get outdoors now. No on course amenities due to COVID-19.

Long walks green to tee.

We played the red and white courses for 18 holes total.
The holes are not long, but the distances from the green to the next tee are quite a hike, so be advised you might want a cart. You fo cross several roadways . Our golf now hot deal, was 30 to walk (and we wanted the exercise, (boy did we get it. ) On the courses website it was $35 with a cart. This is a course for the mid to upper level golfer, not for novices.

The fairways on a few holes were dry but playable, the grees were in good shape. There's several ponds and small creeks/ditches on the course , mist don't affect play, but there are two forced carries on the par threes, and 9/18 on white is a drive over water except for the forward tees. With all the water (most of which doesn't come into play) there are several flocks of Canadian geese on the course.

If you walk, plan on 4.5 hours, so don't tee off late in the day.

Winter season affecting the course, but not the layout.

This is a great course, but the fairways have browned out for the winter (now Dec.) So thhat has some effect on the lies.

But the layout is excellent, and the course is challenging. Many fairways are sloped and rolling, so the ability to place the ball is key. Accuracy is rewarded, even for someone who doesn't hit long. Short summary is if you play in the 80s and lower, you'll injoy iy, if your still in the 90s and above, likely not.

So if you're playing at a level where you can place your shots you're going to love the course. If you hit and hope, perhaps not. The greens are challenging as well, landing in the right spot is often critical. We had shots drop 6 ft. From the pin and roll to the fringe.. soe due to winter conditions on the green, but these greens will play tough most of the time.

Even so the setting is beautiful, the course is great, the carts are GPS equipped and they do advise your pace of play.

Year round golf

St. Andrew's has covered golf carts for playing in cooler weather. You may be limited to cart path only, but most days you can take a cart out.

Choice of two 18 hole courses that challenge even mid-level players to have an enjoyable experience.

Friendly staff, decent course management.

Entering fall season

Played on a windy October Saturday, course was nearly empty. No starters, no rangers due to the low number of players. Expect that will be status quo until they close for winter. Friendly staff and friendly golfers.

Great course for the beginner to intermediate, but not challenging enough if you play in the 70's.

Course is in reasonable shape, but it was walking only due to recent rains. It made for a leisurely 5 hours of play. Geese are inhabiting large areas of the course, so watch your step.

Course is in fine shape, great for beginners to high intermediate golfers.

Always a pleasure to play, ourse is well kept for a municipal course. Pace of play is reasonable, but not hurried. Front 9 is walkable, back 9 is less friendly to walkers but some people do it.

Plenty of birdie opportunities!

Straightforward Layout

Most holes are straight and not to demanding. A comfortable course for the intermediate player. Well groomed, sandtraps properly maintained, which is worthy noting.

If you want to get some bunker practice, this is the course. Friendly staff and golfers. Interested in playing again. Dress code for collared shirts and appropriate golf shorts, slacks, skirts, kilts or knickers is in place.

Enjoy the course!

New layout is good, some holes still undet repair.

The reversal of the front and back 9 to accomodate the car dealership is very playable. Just remember the 1st tees has moved to the former 10th location. The course is in good condition except for a few holes still under construction/repair.

Greens are in excellent shape, and the bunkers actually have a playable sand base ( not the case on many of the local courses at this price point and playing level.)

This course is playable on many holes by beginner, but would be difficult on many holes if it was your 1st round or two. Great for intermediate, and interesting enough for an advanced player. Friendly and helpful staff.

One of the best muni courses in the southwest Chi suburbs

This course is fairly good condition, but a lot of repairs underway, and it will get better. The pace of play is usually less than 4 hours during the week. Do be mindful that there are poison ivy and poison oak growing inside the treelines along the roadways, so, if you drive one in there, let it go.

We play here often and enjoy it. Reviews are of course, from our point of view, so here it is. Now, as I know the course staff reads the reviews, I'll single out one of the rangers on duty today, specifically enough so he receives the feedback. Hopefully, others will find the story mildly amusing. In a very condescending manner, he pointed out that we did not have to wait for the group ahead to leave the green before teeing on on hole 10, only been playing for years at that never occurred to me, that I could hit when the group in front was out of range, DUH?? Had he actually been present long enough he would have realized that I had waited for the group from the 18th hole who had hit it into my landing zone to clear the area? Believe me, if I thought I could drive the green on # I0 wouldn't be playing Woodruff.

He also took issue with an extra ball hit by my partner after she'd put one into the trees on the right, and then her provisional when she put one in the creek area on the left. No one waiting at the tee while this was going on. In fact a different ranger, who knows how often we play said it was ok if we occasionally hit an extra ball as long as the pace of play was maintained.

All might have made some sense if we were behind pace of play, but we finished in under 3 /2 hours and arrived at virtually ever tee from # 8 onwards before the prior group had hit their 2nd shot.

Woodruff is a fun course, a great value, and we genuinely enjoy playing there, I do value the work the ranger do, and I'm not about to behave like a jerk, but it is a recreational course and I do expect mutual courtesy.

The last point to put it in context, in our twosome, we carded a 76, and an 84, so while we weren't scorching the course, we weren't hacking it up either. We'll be back!

Very playable course conditions

The cautions in the course description are rather unsettling, but the course is ~90% recovered and is very playable. Only a few areas of a few.fairways are affected.

Outstanding value on a hot deal rate, but not such a value at the non-discounted $40 rate that was posted on our day of play.

The course is straightforward, the fairways wide, greens large and simple so a mid to high handicapper can thoroughly enjoy the course.
It won't challenge a single digit handicapper, but it's a great property for the average golfer.

The fairways are in great shape now (May), and the greens are in reasonable condition. A few doglegs and blind greens challenge you enough to keep it interesting. Pace of play is steady at ~8 minutes a hloe, but not rushed.

Quick playing par 3

This is a short, simple par three course, great for improving your accuracy on shots in the 90 to 120 yard range. only one long hole at 161 yards. Greens and fairways in nice shape, but the bunkers need work.

Great practice green, a driving range, and minin-golf.

Nice 9 hole course, fast play

This is laid out as a nice 9 hole for the beginning to intermediate golfer. Great for a quick 9 woth a cart, and certainly a course that you can walk with a hand cart. Some of the bunkers are due for reconstruction, and that's what keeps it's rating below excellent for condition.

The course is ready to go!

The only thing that Woodruff lacks is a little more time for the trees to leaf out, as we played in early April. The tee boxes are well-prepared, the greens in good shap, and the fairways wide and welcoming. One of the best of the Joliet are municipal courses.

A friendly neighborhood course

This is a short 9 hole course, not to dificult for the novice golfer, but with enough challenges on a few holes to keep it interesting, very walkable as well if you chose to. #1 challeges a little with the creek right off the tee, so if you're new to golf, or still not confident with a driver, use a lofted club instead of the driver to be sure you get it in the air.

If you cleared the creek on #1, think about the same club on #5, if you didn't, consider driving over the bridge to the red tees to keep it fun. Nice practice green, but no driving range.

Staff is friendly and welcoming, and truly concerned that you and everyone on the course enjoys their round!

Well maintained greens are easy to read.

This is a very good course in the Pebble Creek development. It is the oldest of the courses, and houses are close on a few holes, but generally dont affect play. The advantage of this older course is that the distance between holes is not as great as the other 2 at Tuscany. Still it is a desert style course, and you should ride, not walk.

The fairways are wide enough for average golfers, but poor shots to the desert stone will be painful. Water is seldom in play from the blue and whites, almost never from the red.

These courses (Eagle's Nest, and Tuscany east and west) are all inside the gated adult community, so they are played by residents quite a bit. Theres been some new seeding on Tuscany West so a number of holes are cart path only.
