Bellair Golf Park
Played On 01/17/2022Flipped 9s
The 1st tee used to be next to the clubhouse but since the renovations it is now across the street from the range. BTW: despite what Golf Now says, the range is open. Need a sign at #10 so groups don’t tee off there thinking it is still the 1st hole. Otherwise, this a fun short course to play.
Great Eagle Golf Club

Just reopening after overseeding. Cart path only every hole. Lots of mowing going on, grass clippings everywhere. Greens and tee boxes are shaggy. Traps are unplayable. Give the course a month before playing it.

Average clubhouse and practice putting and chipping greens but the driving range was closed. Friendly, helpful staff following COVID-19 precautions. For a mountain resort course in the Lake Tahoe area I expected it to be in much better overall condition: the greens had been punched and sanded weeks ago but they were still very bumpy and slow, the tee boxes were not well maintained with bare spots and weeds. The fairways were the best kept parts of the course. The rough was very deep and weedy. The layout is quite challenging from the blue or back tees.

Average clubhouse, average putting and chipping greens, average driving range but then it becomes nothing but outstanding: staff, course conditions, layout, scenery, rates 10 of 18 holes are water-involved, very challenging from the blue or back tees. Glad I played with some locals who gave me good advice to help keep me out of trouble. This course is set between 4-5,000 feet in elevation so a round becomes a stamina workout for out of shape flat landers like me.
Grand Canyon University Golf Course
Played On 07/06/2018A Real Shame
I've played this course 4 times a year since it was renovated and loved the experience every time, but not this last time. The course conditions are beyond pathetic. GCU should shut it down to spare them the embarrassment and the ire of the golfing public. I echo other reviewers who found the fairways unplayable and littered with weeds and tree debris; the grass is dead in patches on almost every green, the 16th green had standing water on it, the 11th tee box was flooded, every bunker I hit into was waterlogged and 2 had standing water in them. After our round a staffer told us a new superintendent is taking over and they will be closing the course for a week. I hope they get it turned around soon because right now it is the laughingstock of the valley. A real shame.
Coldwater Golf Club
Played On 8/10/2013To score, stay out of the rough...
Clubhouse facilities were nicely maintained; carts run on gas; tee boxes were uneven, smallish and chewed up; fairways were the best-maintained features on the course; the rough was US Open deep, too deep for us high handicappers; the greens were bare in some spots; the Par 3 8th, at 97 yards from the Blue tees really a carnival attraction; the beauty of the course was marred by overhead high tension power lines and train tracks; the serenity of our round was disturbed by the noise from a nearby swap meet.
Aguila Golf Course
Played On 07/19/2013Fun course for the price
Aguila is in very good shape for mid-summer in Phoenix: the tee boxes, fairways and greens are very green
Mountain Shadows Golf Course
Played On 04/20/2013This course is overpriced for an 18 hole executive course in this condition in April in Arizona
The staff inside the clubhouse and on the course is very helpful and friendly; many of the tee boxes were not wide enough or level enough; the fairways were well-maintained; many of the greens, especially on the back nine, were extremely hard and too fast; several of the holes are much too short at yardages of only 80 to 120 yards; over 18 holes the beverage cart visited us only one time, on the 15th hole.
We love hearing about our golfers' experiences. Please tell us more about what you enjoyed during your round. Thanks for choosing Encanto Golf Course!
