The Springs Course at The House on the Rock Resort and Golf Club
Played On 7/13/2013Well maintained and scenic course.
We were in Spring Green to see Hamlet, at APT the night before and were wondering where to golf. I logged on to my Golf Now app, and got a very good deal on the course at The House on the Rock course. The place is beautiful. Set in the dramatic Wisconsin River basin, the course meanders meaningly through it. They have 27 holes, a practice area, and your fees include range balls. We played 1-18. There is water to contend with on many holes, bunkers placed well and the fairways for the most part, were in very good condition. The greens were a interesting mix of flatness and undulation. Over all, it is my #2 place to play in the area. Thanks to "Golf Now" to make it affordable!
Reedsburg Country Club
Played On 6/30/2013A nice Sunday afternoon.
It was a bright Summer's day when we were there, arriving on time and ready to play. The pro shop was nicely set up, and the carts were clean and so we went to the first tee. The course is in excellent condition, even though Wisconsin has been getting more than it's share of rain. Google the website, and check out the layout. It is very walkable, the cart is nice, but not necessary. Course has 4 tees for each hole, and are all very well cared for. The course is a challenge for a novice like myself. But by the same token, very fun. More water holes than I am used to, I feel good only loosing 3 balls in the water. I rate the course on par with Devil's Head, Portage C/C, Spring Green or any of the nicer courses in this part of Wisconsin. We will go back.
