I can not say enough good things about Oak Creek Country Club! It snuggles up right to the edge of incredible Red Rock formations. It feels like golf skirting the edge of the Grand Canyon. The only thing better than the views were the fairways and greens. Course was incredible and challenging enough. The golf shop could use an update as could the club house. I recommend this course without any reservations. Worth the two hour drive we made from Scottsdale!

This course has so much potential, but is only a shadow of what is could be. The layout is interesting, long, and challenging. If all the holes were in as good a condition as 17 and 18, I would give this a strong 4-5, especially for the money. The greens were in great condition, but the fairways were only 1 step beyond a good pasture. I actually enjoyed the course, but just kept wishing it was in better condition. Staff was very nice. I hope they invest more in maintaining the course.

My wife and I played the course during our trip to Austin. We are both seniors with 22 handicaps. We loved the course in spite of the fact that it is a very tough course. Unless you are a 10 or under handicap, I'd bring an extra sleeve or two of balls. We had two 7 handicaps in our group. We saw them make some great shots, but even they hit more than a few out of bounds. I kept waiting for an easy hole, but one never came. Loved it! There was challenge everywhere. The course is very scenic with lots of elevation changes. There is water along with plenty of hills. It is an classic country club, and I highly recommend it to anyone. The staff was extremely friendly. The course was in great condition. The greens were in excellent shape with plenty of undulations to keep you focused. The carts did not have GPS, so bring your own. It really helps. Hats off to the team at River Place.
