Wife and I played on a Sunday at 10:30. Nice layout, with a variety of hole shapes. Forgiving from the forward tees and a good test from the tips and blue where I played from. Used all the clubs in the bag. A few blind shots that require some course knowledge, which I didn’t have. Greens were receptive and medium speed. Played in about 2:45 with a threesome ahead of us. Only complaint, which others have mentioned is the condition of the cart paths. They are terrible bordering on dangerous in spots. Otherwise a great place for a nice round. We will definitely be back.

After 2 days of downpours, my wife and I were ready to get out of the house. Didn’t want to spend a bunch of money to play and didn’t at Sunset Hills.(36$ per) It is priced where a course like this should be. It isn’t overly long but I hit enough drivers to make it fun. There is a nice variety of holes and I hit most of the clubs in my bag.There are a lot of rocky areas around the cart paths so keep it in the fairways. Soggy but not unplayable after A LOT of rain. Very small, flat greens that putted ok for not being mown. I will need to play it again in better conditions to truly get a sense of the value but overall it played in under 4 hours and “scratched the itch.”

Tried Westport for a second time yesterday. I will not be back. The lack of care at Westport was evident at the first hole. Although there was a storm the night before, which accounted for the greens not being mowed, they should have at least taken a few minutes to blow the debris off of them. The cups were cut in areas of the greens that were unputtable due to green damage and didn’t need to be. The staff was nice but until Westport cares more about the golf course conditions and golfers, I don’t care to be back.

Not the longest course but a nice test. I hit every club in my bag today. Outstanding service in the Covid era with multiple safety precautions taken. Course was in very nice shape. Greens were very receptive/ soft and putted relatively true despite being recently aerated. As a bonus, had a great day after being paired up with some wonderful folks who made the round a joy.

Firstly, worth noting that I got an incredible deal on Golfnow as a single player booking last minute. Secondly, thank goodness I was paired with players familiar with the course or I may have lost what I saved buying new golf balls. I choose to play the silver tees which is a combo of the blue and white, perfect choice. There are a bunch of forced carries from the back tee boxes, so choose the correct tees. The course is visually intimidating, but gives enough room to miss a bit and still be in play. Good variety of holes moving both directions. Course was a bit soggy after nighttime rain but only had a few mud issues. Hit different clubs on all the par threes and the greens were receptive and putted true. Overall, a tough but fair test of Florida golf on a very nice layout. You may not need your “A” game, but you better bring your “B” game or a couple extra sleeves of balls.

From start to finish, my experience was excellent. I booked on GolfNow for the Hot Rate and played 18 holes of speedy golf for well under a hundred bucks. Played the front 9 by myself (and about 50 iguanas... very cool) in about an hour. Joined up with a twosome on the back and still finished in 3 1/2 hours. Like others have mentioned, the "Ocean" course is a bit of a misnomer, but the par 3 along the beach is quite a hole 238 from the back tees. Beautiful!!! I look forward to more visits to Puerto Rico and I will surely be back to the Ocean Course at Rio Mar!

I played Lake Lawn many years ago and enjoyed it then as now.
