The Golf Club at Chapel Ridge
Played On 08/08/2022A Great Layout, High Price, Low Amenities
The course is a great layout, wide open with large Bermuda greens and a variety of elevations. The fairways were filled in nicely and greens had recently been verticut. There had been work done in the bunkers, but still lots of rocks in each bunker.
The staff in the clubhouse and grill weren't very friendly. Pace of play was very slow for an 11am tee time in 90 degree weather, with very little etiquette from the group ahead of us as we waited on them on every hole. No starter on the first tee, no beverage cart, and no ranger during the entire round.
Lots of the tee boxes had tall weeds on them, areas around the greens had not been mowed. Lots of bare/hard pan spots on the edges of fairways and cart paths. The tee markers need to be repainted, as well as a 2nd tee marker for hole 12 par 3 as there is only one.
There is no drinking water or ball washer water on the course.
For the lack of amenities, it is hard to justify paying full price on the weekends. It's a great track that needs some attention to detail and staff care. As a local golfer that plays 60+ rounds a year, I will spend my money elsewhere.

Played On 08/01/2022Great Track in Great Shape
This course has been in incredible shape all summer. Love playing here. Not easy, but everything is in great shape. Pace is the only problem, and the ranger came by on 12 to try and help. It did pickup a bit on the back 9.
Black Mountain Golf Course
Played On 10/02/2021Great Bones, Terrible Condition
The front 9 designed by Donald Ross are a great collection of holes that weave around themselves in typical Ross fashion. Love the green complexes and approaches into the greens from the fairways. The back 9 has great mountain views and an enjoyable layout.
It is hard to look past the torn up fairways, excessive top dressing on the greens (at least .5 inch of sand in places), making putting useless. Most punched/top dresses greens can still be putted on, however these were so thickly top dressed that it felt like wet snow on every green.
Pro shop is nearly empty, no driving range, and old carts. So much potential for a gem of a mountain course.
Wildwood Green Golf Course
Played On 08/04/2021Very Slow, So Many Rules
Pros:
GPS in carts - very nice
Greens condition - excellent
Cons:
Very slow pace - had 4 carts in the group ahead of us, waiting on every tee box as a 2-some. Ranger passed multiple times and said "it's just busy today"
Constantly bombarded with rules and "Do Not" signs in the clubhouse, on the range, on the course, on the GPS screen.
Does not create a welcoming or inviting vibe for enjoying a round of golf.

David at the front desk was very helpful and professional, got us out on the first tee early, both groups we ran up on let us play through with no problem!
Course was in great shape, greens were slightly slower than normal. Definitely enjoy playing here and will be back.

Played On 12/26/2018Post Christmas Round
Course was on a frost delay of 30minutes. There was no starter at the first hole and groups were clumped together through the entire round. There was no ranger making sure pace of play was on pace, and the round took 5hrs.
Greens were in good shape, the layout is challenging and enjoyable.
