Olivas is consistently a good course to play. Fairways in better shape than many, and greens are good too. Coastal location is usually a bit breezy.
Interesting layout and tee boxes make it playable for many skills levels.
The trailer that serves as 'clubhouse' has just very basic drinks, clothes and odds and ends you might need but is functional.
Pace of play is usually decent (I play mostly weekends) and 5 hour rounds are rare.

Greens are in good shape after punching a few weeks ago and fairways are a little better than comparable muni courses.

Staff and service are always good. Golfers should note that Buena’s layout isn’t all that complex and it’s fairly short yardage (blue is comparable to White elsewhere, and even black is a modest length blue at most other courses). Still, it’s nut an executive length course and always fun to play.

Nice links layout. Always in at least good condition. Good pace of play for a Friday afternoon, but this course is rarely super slow anyway.

Green punching from a couple weeks ago went well and greens were good

I heard new carts are coming….that’s good. Existing carts are “fair” but older. Mine got “tired” last 3-4 holes.

As always a nice course and cooperative staff.

Greens were still pretty bumpy from punching earlier this month. Some very bumpy putts.

Encanto is an old style/traditional course. Fairly well kept Muni, nice staff. Not too much trouble...wide open fairways and few bunkers (some are a little light on sand). Fairways and greens in pretty good condition. Played on a weekend and it was a little slow, but not bad (4:45).
Not a "wow" course like the $100-$200 courses in Scottsdale, but a reliable spot that has been in decent shape every time I've come to play while visiting family over last 15 years.

Olivas is a nice links style track. Good conditions (although some greens had too many un-repaired ball marks). Fairways were in excellent shape.

Played LAKES (not Vineyard). Always in good condition. Foggy start and ended with usual breeze, but very pleasant.

I played white, am not that long and its challenging...126 slope makes sense.

Limited amenities (COVID), but Cart girl was out.

Always enjoyable, fairways and greens in good condition. Flat and not too long so easily walk-able in today's COVID environment.

Sterling is pretty flexible, and has managed to be efficient Re COVID.

Good track and in pretty good condition.

Good mini course that keeps in reasonable condition despite heavy play.
Weekends can get busy and be a bit slow.
Back 9 next to the hills is a bit more interesting.

Decent course at a pretty reasonable price. Fun to play for most levels.

Played Thanksgiving AM and so was less busy than it is at times and had decent pace of play. Fairways were great, greens were good -pretty firm- but a little bumpy and not quite as good as the fairway conditions.

Layout difficulty was average given tee length but felt like it played a little long. I’m not a long hitter so I was using longer irons or hybrid in a lot and 3 of 4 par 3s were longer irons.

Course is modest length and interesting but not terribly unusual layout. Fairways & Green usually in better than average to good/very good condition. Played weekday so pace was good; weekends can sometimes play a little slow.
Holes all have sopme challenge...elevation changes, narrower fairway or tight\multi level greens, etc. Can be a good challenge for a good golfer, but forward tees (and smart play) can make it good for average golfer.

This is a fairly short (even from Blue) public course, with fairly generous fairways. Some holes both 9s have water hazards, but trees lining the fairways are not too tight. Greens are decent. Pace is not always great (weekends), but it's short enough to get in your round in 4hrs. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.

Played this ahead of an SCGA tournament in a couple of weeks (June 2013). Fairways & greens in good/very good condition. Course is not long (wind speed and direction affect holes differently), but is fairly tight, trouble on the sides and at certain distances, so requires good course management to score well.

I play the course every 6-8 weeks; plays slow on weekends often, but nice staff, interesting course (especially the back 9) and is reasonably challenging if you pick the right tees for almost everyone.
