Bewdley Pines Golf Club
Played On 07/29/2023Nice local course
Reasonably difficult but not the longest in the world. Watch out for the Snake!
Ardencote Golf
Played On 07/09/2022Course OK but needs more care.
If you happy to play a course which needs more tlc then this is for you. For a price of £12 for 18 holes it's OK and there are some testing holes. However overall I wouldn't recommend it as the greens at hard, the fairways are similar and the tees are poor. If you are staying at the hotel and it's free then why not otherwise look for somewhere with a little more refinement, I think you'll agree with my comments if you do play it.
Bewdley Pines Golf Club
Played On 06/03/2022Good test and well kept.
This course is a good test especially the first 4 holes. Watch out for the Snake - shortish but it can certainly bite you if you don't give it the respect it deserves. Enjoy!
Little Lakes Golf Club
Played On 11/04/2021Course attached to holiday site with no Golf shop or Pro.
The course is ok but no evidence of green keepers maintaining the course hence there are leaves everywhere hence we lost many balls even straight ones. The course has no Golf Pro so on arrival you just advise the cleaner or bar staff that you have arrived. Staff encountered particularly one women was toffee nosed and unwelcoming and quite honestly after encountering her will not be returning to this course. Other courses in my opinion in the area such as Wharton Park and Bewdley Pines are way better anyway - they have pros, golf shops and nice bars so would defintley recommend these above this course. Played at top course i.e. The Belfrey etc and have have been welcomed - this course should take a leaf out of their book - how to address and speak to people in the correct manner (they have enough of them on Little Lakes Golf Course)!!
Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club - Deer Park Course
Played On 09/15/2021Nice country course
This course has 3 sets of 9. We played the foxes and badger. Course was in pretty good condition with some testing holes. Worth a visit every now and then.
Church Stretton Golf Club
Played On 08/26/2021Links course in the heart of Shropshire
The second time I have played this course. It is a really good test of shot making. There are plenty of humps and bumps but these are to be expected as you are playing on the mountain sides as God made them. Views are spectacular and the greens run true and do not vary from green to green. Members seem very friendly and welcoming unlike some other courses which is a nice touch. Pro was also great wishing us a good round. Would definitely join if I lived closer but well worth the drive out from Kidderminster from time to time. The only down side would be the cafe/bar never seems to be open.
Church Stretton Golf Club
Played On 07/29/2021The hills are alive with the sound of wind/sheep and oh yes Golf!
A links type course in the middle of Shropshire. Short - round about 5000 yds but tough because your not just playing the game of golf but all the other elements like wind/hills/small tough greens/ tough lies/bracken and as a first time player lots of blind shots. It's an experience put it that way but as bones once said it's golf Jim but not as we know it. Will try again at some point.
Leominster Golf Club
Played On 07/08/2021Well maintained course
Nice greens and tees. Course is not that long but the fairways are quite narrow. A little hilly with good views. Enjoyed and would recommend playing.
Bewdley Pines Golf Club
Played On 06/23/2021Abbey Hotel Golf & Spa
Played On 06/10/2021Tough course - Not for the beginner!
Long tree lined course. Fairly narrow fairways so you must be playing well. Good tees and greens and course in good condition. Rough long deep grass so if you hit slightly off target you will loose a few balls. Testing course - enjoyed it - will play again.
Sapey Golf Club - Rowan Course
Played On 05/27/2021Well kept course
Greens and tees good. A little wet in one or two patches on the fairway but nothing to worry about. Overall a very good course - not too long but still testing. Mainly flat terrain.
Bridgnorth Golf Club
Played On 08/10/2020Good Course but stuffy member
Enjoyed playing the course but a lady member thought too much of herself and tried to tell my group that we were playing too slow when infact it was the group in front of her. When we finished the group behind us were at least 3 holes back. Shame she doesn't concentrate on her game instaed of acting all highty-tighty. Apart from that played well and enjoyed the course. If booked via Golf Now you will probablty be joined up like we were.
Little Lakes Golf Club
Played On 07/17/2020Tough hilly course
This course as far as I know doesn't have a pro so you just speak to someone in the bar who wasn't the most friendliest and could only give us one scorecard.
The course is quite nice but hilly so would recommend an electric trolley or buggey. Greens good and most tees good.
Challenging course for a mid handicapper.
Penn Golf Club
Played On 12/09/2019One Big Bog
Every hole was virtually under water - the course should have been closed. There seemed to be no effort taken in tackling the wetness i.e. bark chippings etc put round very wet parts. Leaves everywhere - again no effort seen in clearing them up + some bunkers dug up not playable but not cordened off.
Might be ok in the summer but if you fancy a game any other time of year -AVOID. Played quite well considering but wont be returning.
Telford Hotel & Golf Resort
Played On 08/20/2019Reasonable Hotel Golf Course
Pretty good - worth playing if your in the area. Staff were friendly and worth money to play. Would play again at some point.
West Cornwall Golf Club
Played On 02/16/2018Typical links course with great views
Up and down with a lot of blind shots.Greens quite good, signage poor, great views of sea and Godrevy lighthouse.
Club-house average - Bar food seemed expensive - didn't see any specials which was disappointing as would have eat at the course if they had been making some kind of effort on the catering. Obviously the cook was to busy smoking outside clubhouse. If courses like this want to earn extra then they should concentrate more in this area - probably lost at least £50 as I would have spent more if food available at reasonable prices.
Bude & North Cornwall Golf Club
Played On 02/12/2018Typical links course
Good course, reasonable length and difficulty. Good views of sea and greens quite good. Showers and locker room just ok.
Like most courses in Cornwall the signage is really poor particularly in between holes.
The clubhouse is average - nice Pro but the bar and eatery wasn't really great. They did offers on certain days - shame it wasn't on all days as I did want to eat after playing. The club probably lost about £80 from me. Bude - please please please concentrate more in this area if you want to attract golfers in to your bar and restaurant after playing.
Mullion Golf Club
Played On 12/21/2017Undulating Hilly Course with sea views
This course is not for me mainly because a lot of holes you hit blind off the tee, the fairways are narrow, there is no yardage on the tees which I found amazing, course signage is really poor (a couple of times we ended up on the wrong greens as we didn't know where to hit) and there is a lot of steep hills.
On the flip side the greens are well maintained, the course has a nice club house, the members were friendly and the Pro was great.
Would I play there again - No - If you do decide to play the course try and team up with some members if possible.
