I always make sure I play Laberge when we stay at the Golden Nugget . It is a Great getaway from gambling to get outdoors . The fairways and bunkers are in great shape . The greens have just been punched but still ran remarkably well. Friendly staff always is a nice way to start my round . Ice and water at the restrooms on the course are great with the summer heat . My one recommendation to the course is to make sure the containers are filled so that players can repair their divots .

My wife and daughter let my Son-in-law and I go for our Birthday to stay at the Golden Nugget casino . I have learned the more Golf I play the more money I save from the casinos .So In 48 hours we played 4 rounds at the Contraband Bayou course next door . It is definitely one of my favorite courses to play . Staff is always friendly ! The course is in good shape right now . They are doing some work on a few tee boxes and have one temporary green but otherwise fairways , bunkers, and traps are all great . One thing I did notice these rounds is the rough was higher which I’m not a fan of . Several times we spent time searching for balls that were difficult to find . On our last round they were cutting it so hopefully they will keep it shorter . It speeds pace of play and definitely makes it more enjoyable for the average golfer to keep the rough shorter . So give Contraband Bayou a try it definitely will save you money being on the course instead of in the Casinos 😂

There is a lot of work going on right now . Bunkers are being upgraded , greens have been punched , and there are a few areas under repair in some fairways . Having said all that this course is still my go to Course when we stay at the Golden Nugget . . Hopefully all repairs will be done in the next few weeks to get it back to its best condition . Also hopefully they will unlock the restrooms on the course and bring back the water and ice at the two restrooms on the course . Give it a try !

I have volunteered at The Golf Club of Houston for the Shell tournament for many years . The Course I believe is the Best in Houston . The course is Scenic with perfect fairways ,bunkers , and greens . Having said that about the course sadly I was disappointed with the customer service . On the 6th hole our cart stopped working . I immediately called the club house . Ten minutes pass no replacement . I call again . 20 minutes pass no replacement. I continue calling the club house and the lady answering seemed confused as to weather someone is coming or not . Finally after calling 5 times and waiting 45 minutes watching group after group pass us we received a new cart . From a customer service perspective from a course that charges what this course does they need to be better . I will be back because the course is Amazing but a great course with poor service will lose business over time . Hopefully it was just an exception to how things normally work . Thanks Will Mattern

There are many reasons Houston National is one of my favorite courses in Houston . I'm 64 and any days of hitting long drives are far behind me but this week on the par 5 -550 yard 12 th hole assisted by a 30 mile an hour wind with a hard winter downward sloping fairway I hit my 292 yard drive followed by a 260 yard 3 wood to be 10 feet from the hole for an Eagle put . I missed the putt but walked away with an easy birdie and most importantly left the hole feeling like a Golfer with abilities that I really don't have . Houston National with its fairways lined with berms gives you a look at a course that is not typical of any course in Houston . With links style fairways and greens in great shape running true they are better than some of the Best courses in Houston . Houston National is a great change from many typical cookie cutter neighborhood courses . I have played here 5 or 6 times and every time I finish my first thought is when can I make it back . I will make one suggestion though . I worked for many years in Customer Service and as a District Trainer for Customer Service so having said that maybe I look at customer service with a more critical eye than most but so far checking in to start my rounds the people there have seemed very indifferent to golfers coming in . Maybe I have just caught them on off days . I'm sure the guys at the desk would prefer to be on the course but as I always preached as a Trainer in Customer Service a Smile and Greeting goes a long way in making your customers feel appreciated and welcomed . I have not been able to play Panorama for about a month . Coming back I still am amazed at how Great these Greens are . Playing courses around Houston whenever I am paired with someone we usually talk about what courses we have played and the condition of the course .Whenever Panorama comes up everyone says the same thing . Wow what Great Greens Panorama has .! Panorama makes me a better golfer playing their PGA level Greens . As a Bonus they have a great and kind staff . Thank you Panorama!

If you played West Fork six months ago come back you will be amazed at the turn around they have made on their greens . West Fork will always be one of the areas most scenic courses with houses only on the last three holes but in addition to that it's great to see it getting back to being my favorite course. It's layout will challenge you but if you play smart you can score well.Everyone that works their is always friendly with a smile and sitting on the deck after a round drinking a beer looking out at the lake is definitely relaxing . As each week has passed they continue to improve . Thank you West Fork !

I play many different courses around the Houston area and Panorama currently has the Best greens. They will challenge all golfers with tough slopes on many holes . When I play this course I play two scores . The course score and the number of putts on the greens . The staff is always kind and friendly. So if putting is your strength give Panorama a try and count your Putts .

West Fork for years had been one of my favorite courses to play . About a year ago between flooding and other problems their greens became very hard to play . But now they are making a come back ! Are they where they want them to be . Probably not but they are definitely worth giving another look . I hope they keep working to make this a great course . Today playing the course watching a hawk fly overhead I was reminded why I love this course . Unlike other courses cut through sub- divisions this course is so scenic as it cuts through the pine trees with homes on only the last three holes. The staff at West Fork is always friendly , kind, and welcoming . I would like to make one suggestion and that's they cut the brush and lower limbs around the lake leading to the deck . It would be nice to be able to have a clearer view of the lake and driving range from the deck while enjoying drinks . Thanks Will Mattern

West Fork is coming back strong . The course has made great improvements in the last month . The fairways,tee boxes, and bunkers are in great shape . Some of the greens on the front nine have been well repaired and are all starting to look great again . This course has always been one of my favorite courses because there are no houses until the last couple of holes . It's the only course where I have made an eagle and also saw one flying overhead. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back .

3 years ago this course was in rough shape but they have done an Amazing job to turn it around . Like all courses in the winter the fairways are a little thin but the Greens are in Great Shape ! If your use to flat greens with a hole punched in them this course will be a challenge for you . But if you want to see the challenge that PGA pros deal with you will love this course . When I play Panirama I play for a good score but also play to get under 36 puts in my round . Get above the hole and you are really challenged . Deffinely give Panorama a try and count your putts !

About 3 years ago when I played Panorama the course was in really bad shape . That's not the case anymore . They have completely turned the course around . The fairways are in Great shape as are the Greens . If your a person that enjoys being tested with Greens with a lot of slope you will be tested on these greens . The staff has been very friendly . With the course in Great shape there have been times when pace of play has been a little slow but that's understandable because everyone likes playing a course in Good Shape .

This was my first time to play Houston National . Playing many Courses around Houston one thing becomes clear 90 percent are very flat . Houston National is lined with mounds throughout the Course setting it apart from most courses . The Greens had recently been lightly sanded but we're in great shape . I enjoyed the course and had a great round paired up with two very friendly Guys . I do have one suggestions for the Course . On the back nine there is an uncovered drain in the middle of the fairway that ate my ball . A simple grill over the top would solve things . Will Mattern

Sometimes I start to believe I'm a Good putter and then I go to Panorama . The course layout is not all that difficult . The difficulty begins on the Greens not because the Greens are in bad shape . They are in Great shape but get above the hole with the slope that these greens have and you will be tested . Every round I have played there my goal has been to finish with 36 putts . When I do I feel accomplished wich has not been that often . So if you want to test your putting give it a try

This course took a beating during the Hurricane . They had lots of work to do to bring it back but they are doing just that . They have completely rebuild over 2/3 of their bunkers with much better sand than most courses . The greens are coming around well for the small amount of time that has passed since the Storm . Like the Golf Club of Houston this course is very scenic with only a few houses on the last three holes . Everyone that works there is extremely Friendly and helpful and that's why whenever I have a free day to get away relax in Nature and hit a Golf ball WestFork is my first choice .

Just a few years ago I played this course on a Golf Now Hot Deal and felt even with the discount it was not worth it. A lot has changed in 2 years . The greens are par with The Wood Forest golf course greens that are some of the best in Houston The fairways are good and the rough is challenging . The course should feel proud of the improvements they have made .

I live in The Woodlands which has some Great courses but West Fork is my favorite course . Every time I play it I see New improvements to the course . The trees , lakes , animals all take you back with Nature as you play. The people that work there are always kind and friendly going out of there way to help . The course is not an extremely difficult course but does have holes that will challenge you . So many courses are cut through neighborhoods lined with houses . This course is an exception and so are all of the Great people that work there .

This course is a great practice course for the Hot Deal price on Golf Now But I would not book it at full price When we played they had sanded 9 of the greens The other 9 were pretty good but the Fairways are just above Mediocre . It also has a lot of older Members that are less than friendly to non members

I played the course for the first time. It does need some work but almost all courses due this time of year coming out of winter . The staff there was very friendly. i will definitely go back

I have played this course several times because it is challenging to hit the right areas in the fairways to get the best lies and distances to the greens. Sadly though currently the GREENS are GONE. Not partially but completely GONE . Four months ago they were in fair condition but disease or moisture have reduced all 18 to more dirt than grass . Hopefully they can turn them around soon .
