Clearview Park Golf Course
Played On 09/02/2022Awful conditions
The course was in terrible shape. Crab grass everywhere - no fareways. The tee boxes are dry dirt and dust - need a hammer to place your tee. The golf course was not playable - the worst ever. When I told the staff how bad was the course, they answered - no rain! What? What year is this - 1922? Do I look like Bobby Jones? This course is relying on the rain for watering the grass and on the Canadian geese for fertilizing! All Queens public courses are totally left without any maintenance since Giulianny fixed them more than 20 years ago. Terrible conditions. Disgrace. Men and Women spend $80 to play unplayable city courses. Mr Mayor, stop spending crazy money on stupid things and help New yorkers!
Clearview Park Golf Course
Played On 05/27/2022Started liking it
I was very annoyed playing this course. It is flat, no surprises, open fairways. I prefered Douglaston and Forest park for the better and more challenging layout. But i played like 3 times this year and I started liking it. First, it is better maintained than the other Queens courses. Second, the staff is very friendly. Third - no delays. So, I recommend this course and will play it again.
Clearview Park Golf Course
Played On 04/15/2022Awful greens
The greens were aerated - awful to play. There was no information about this when I booked the tee time. And one comment for all citi golf courses - get two guys to fix the bold spots on the course. It is like this for decades - zero maintenance. Regular price for this course is $70 and it's always fully booked - spent few dollars to fix the obvious. Very disappointed.
Douglaston Golf Club
Played On 10/29/2021Nice course; needs better maintenance
I've always liked this course. It is challenging, much better than Clearview or Eisenhower, which are flat and boring. But I'm frustrated to see how the bad maintenance ruins the experience - bold spots, the pathways are full of deep halls. Its've been like this for years and nobody cares.
One positive thing, though. No walk-ins! I was tired making reservations online and after this teeing-off with an hour delay because the course allows all walk-ins to tee-off before me. Today was perfect. We finished for 4 hours 10 min.

Played On 08/20/2021Very nice course
Very nice, challenging course with a lot of par 5's. The layout is perfect, no easy halls. Would play it again!
Kissena Park Golf Course
Played On 07/30/2021Short, but interesting golf course
I've played Kissena many times. It's short, but with some interesting par 3 holes. The staff is very friendly. Post COVID prices are ridicules', but the craziness is everywhere. This place needs some investment money to fix pathways, to install ball washers, to patch some bold spots. We always say: Aaa, it's OK for a public course. Nooo, fix it and make it worth the $59 before lunch price!
Kissena Park Golf Course
Played On 04/23/2021Very expensive for this course
I booked a hot deal with additional discount. It came to $96 for the foursome. Cheap. On the course I was told that I owe $15/person for golf carts. So with all the discounts (hot deal + 20% coupon) it came to $39 per person. Without these deals, the regular price is $44 + $15 for a cart = $59! This is a public golf course in a fair condition. This is not a nice course on Long Island. It is very expensive for what you get.
Douglaston Golf Club
Played On 07/24/2020Wet course and miserable day
It stopped raining 10 min before my tee time. The course was in bad condition, a lot of puddles. In general the course is not well maintained. It is bad, because this place has a great potential. Just needs somebody with vision and love for golf to make it better. You can recognize from miles away that this is a public golf course.
By the way, because of the rule "no walk-ins" the pace was great. Anytime before I played the wait is minimum 1 hour - they accept walk-ins and don't keep the tee-times. Terrible management.
Lido Golf Club
Played On 04/13/2014Needs a lot of improvement
Obviously the course had been badly damaged by Sandy and the guys didn't have time or money to fix it. Missing signs and directions, geese waste everywhere, very windy. Maybe in the summer will be a nice place for golf, but I didn't enjoy playing in April. Needs a lot of work. So said.
Douglaston Golf Club
Played On 9/13/2013Nice golf course
Douglaston Golf Course is the best public golf course you can play in Queens, NY. Yes, it can be better (water hazards are not maintained, water is muddy and unpleasant), but it is good value for the money. It is always busy, but I enjoy playing there.
White at Eisenhower Park Golf Course
Played On 9/6/2013Very disappointed
I had big expectations - I've read a lot about the Red course, how they played PGA round there, how the White course was designed by somebody famous. I played the White course. First, the place is very crowded, 80% are walking (exercising or cheap?). Took us 6 hours to finish. All holes are strait, no water hazards, no dog legs, no uphills or downhills. Very boring. All greens are identical - elevated with two sand traps in front. You may play just the same hall over and over - no difference. And on the top of all they turned on the sprinklers half way thru our game. Have you ever hit a ball from a socked fairway under the sprinklers? Our main goal was to avoid the falling water (and I was complaining about the lack of water hazards!). By far the worst golf course I've ever played.
Kissena Park Golf Course
Played On 9/1/2013Great for practicing
I use to spend a lot of time practicing on a driving range. It is much better to play this course and practice in real conditions. I didn't loose even one ball, finished for 3 1/2 hours, no pressure, no "big" shot players behind me showing-off with 300 yard drives. My friends and I had a fun day and will do it again soon.
