Played On 05/19/2019Incredible deterioration of greens
Wow...We come down for four months every year...Old South was one of our favorites...hadn’t played there yet this year...Was amazed that the greens are in such bad shape...especially compared to so many other courses in Bluffton where the greens are in great shape right now.
A shame because the course was terrific last year and we played it multiple times...don’t think we’ll be back this year because there are so many other nice courses in the area for even less cost.
We’ll give it another go next year and see if the greens come back.

Course is in great shape...kudos to the grouds super and crew!
Beautiful new clubhose and very nice looking restaurant...BUT seems to be a problem with getting someone in to run the restaurant with the ability to sell beer...I don’t mind because I don’t drink beer when playing golf but the threesome from New Jersey that I played with was not happy at all about no brewski!

Played On 03/19/2019Terrible Greens...sorry!
Course layout is very nice...this course could be excellent BUT the greens (almost all of them) are in terrible condition...especially when you compare them to other courses in this same area of Bluffton.
The bunkers are fine...fairways need some work but passable for this time of year...but unfortunately the greens are inexcusable...worst I’ve seen here in SC....again, sorry to have to say that, but that is the current reality. As mentioned above, this could be a very nice course...IF the greens can be brought back.
There are several greens with issues that are being addressed by our course superintendent. Unfortunately it is not a quick fix but everything possible is being done to bring those areas back to the kind of surface golfers expect.
