Played On 04/04/2023Great layout by Arnie, but somewhat rough conditions.
My wife and I looked forward to playing this Arnie Signature design for some time. Where the course layout was challenging but fair - the conditions were somewhat lacking. The fairways were good for the most part, but the rough was very spare in some areas. The greens were slow, bumpy, and inconsistent. The grass didn't really look good on them, and it was tough to gauge speed. Still, the staff was helpful and courteous from the Pro Shop attendant to the Starter and the young man cleaning our clubs at the end. It would be fun to try again if it were a bit greener.
Thank you for visiting us at Crescent Pointe Golf Club. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.

Played On 04/27/2021Great course with great conditions.
Spent 1 1/2 weeks at my son’s place in central Florida and played several courses on the area and one at New Smyrna. This was by far in the best condition of the courses I’ve played. Excellent fairways and greens. Still a tough course but a welcome challenge to play. Would play it again anytime. Great track!

Played On 04/21/2021You get what you pay for - typical average municipal course.
The course in the past was a decent layout, but now there's barely any grass on the fairways and the rough is worse. There are areas where they deposited sand because too many trees have kept grass from growing evenly. Bunkers were OK, and the greens were decent, except for a "mounding effect" around the cup when they pulled out the cutter. The place is packed with players of average skill level and some less than that. It was inexpensive, and yet a decent enough course for someone from the north who hasn't played much golf back home to get in a warmup round for play on a better course.
Massanutten Resort - Mountain Greens Course
Played On 07/06/2018Interesting & Challenging Course - but BUGGY!!
Interesting and very hilly course above Massanutten Resort. Many holes blind to the greens. If you hit a draw, you'll like the layout, but you need to hit your driver very accurately, and you may want to move up to the next set of tees. Some fairways are very narrow and unforgiving if you miss them. Plenty of woods, steep drop-offs and meandering streams border several fairways to often vary small greens. Overall conditions when we played were average, and it was apparent they had a great deal of rain recently. Fairways were soft, and some areas mushy. I would be willing to try it again, but the worst part was - it was absolutely the "buggiest" course I've ever played. We used strong bug repellant - to little or no effect. Often, as you addressed the ball, the bugs were swarming around your head. The next day, I had bug bites around my head and on my legs. Was not a pleasant experience. Still, not a bad day.

Went as a single player, and tried to pair up with three different groups, and they refused! Quit after the 4th hole, because I was waiting on every shot - then had people right behind me. All I wanted was to join another group for pace of play. Apparently, they thought I was too good for them. Went in and explained my situation to the Pro Shop who was totally unsympathetic, and showed me their "rain check" rule, which was really a "too bad Charley" rule, giving me NO consideration for my difficulty in getting into another group. Starter was no help, and acted like he didn't care. Will never play this course again. It's an OK layout, but unless you want to hack the ball around, avoid it at all costs. Even the Pro Shop had little in stock, other than selling hot dogs. A big disappointment from the last time I played there. Course was not in great shape, and I guess you get what you pay for.

Went to play this course I had played previous times after making a tee time thru Golf Now. Went as a single, and tried to "pair up" with another group for better pace of play. Tried three groups - and all refused! Starter was no help. Quit after 4 holes because I was constantly waiting as a single, and having the group behind me, also waiting to hit. At that rate, it would have been a more than 5+ hr. round. Tried to explain my circumstance to the Pro Shop and starter and they were no help. Got no consideration for my greens fee, and the lady showed me a "rain check" policy which should have been titled "tough luck policy." This course was not in good condition, and was not worth the wait or the attitude of their players and staff. Players on other holes were all over the course hacking around. I am a 9 handicap player just looking to play while I'm down here from the cold and wet north, and was treated like crap. Will never play here again.

Played On 03/28/2018Very Good Course - Enjoyed the Round
Always enjoy playing here. Great layout - challenging, but fair. Only issue was pace of play. The three of us were sent out after we thought a league was finished playing, but ran into them and for about 8 holes, the pace of play was beyond slow. These guys gave new meaning to slow play. Still, it didn't ruin the day. Fairways had not yet totally come in green, but greens were very good. Will return again next year when I come visiting this way.

Played On 05/01/2017Great Value on a Very Good Course
Played this course because it was near my son's place in Lake Mary. Considering recent very dry conditions in central Florida, the course was in remarkable condition. Fairways were hard, but very good. Greens also hard - a little tough to stop a ball. Size of some greens not very large. Must be precise with some shots. But, they rolled fine. Interesting layout, similar to northern courses I play more often. For the price thru GolfNow - it was a great value, and I will return on my next trip down this way.
Timacuan Golf Club
Played On 03/24/2016Great Golf Course
Every time I come to visit my son and his family in Lake Mary, I make it a point to play Timacauan. Love the layout - challenging, but fair. Today was busy, but the staff was able to get me out and play 18 in a reasonable time. Greens were very fast - fairways vey good, tees good. Staff was especially friendly and accommodating - from the Pro Shop to the starter, to the bar & grill guy - made you feel at home like at your own club. I will definitely return to play Timacuan next time I'm in the Orlando area.

Played On 03/22/2016Much Improved
I've played this course about 3 times in the last 5-7 years when visiting my son & his family in the Orlando area. Wanted to play with my wife, at a reasonable cost, so we tried it again. I was very impressed with the improvements to the course over the last several times I played it. They're working on renovating the clubhouse, bar & grill and the Pro Shop. Course conditions were much improved from the last time I played it. Tees good, fairways good, some in excellent condition, greens (though cosmetically didn't look great) rolled beautifully and fast. Rough was a little scruffy in spots - but hey, it's rough. Great round on a beautiful day. Only drawback was extremely slow play from #9 thru the end of the round. Took nearly 3 hours to play the back nine. But for value - a good course to play in the northern Orlando area for a good price - I would definitely come back. I'm a private club member from Pennsylvania, and can appreciate the improvements they're making to the course. Good job!
Thank you for your wonderful review! We are thrilled to hear that you have noticed the improvements to the course. We are so happy to have you when you are in town and look forward to seeing you again next time!
