Raven Golf Club - Phoenix
Played On 08/02/2017Phoenix Materpiece
One of the best courses in Maricopa County, period. This track is very playable with relatively wide fairways, and despite the rolling terrain, generally even lies. A hybrid of desert and parkland styles, this is truly a unique experience in Phoenix. Ample views of the surrounding mountains and desert landscape are offset by lush green on and between the golf holes and most holes are lined with non-native pine trees, giving the course a feel distinct from most in the valley. The fairways and numerous bunkers are very well manicured and the greens are generally large. The greens had been punched fairly recently, but they still rolled very true, although probably considerably slower than I would expect mid-season. With fantastic practice facilities as well, it isn't hard to see how this course commands top dollar in the high season. The reduced greens fees at this time of year make it absolute MUST play. I will be back soon.

This is a challenging but fair golf course, with a number of risk/ reward holes. In good shape overall, some more attention could be paid to a few of the bunkers and greens...with the reduced rate on Golf Now, definitely a good play for the $$.
