Tour 18 Dallas
Played On 05/28/2018Greens suck!
This is a very simple and easy review. The greens at this course are brutal. Tour 18 big claim is they put 18 of the toughest holes in golf on one course. This maybe true for the tee boxes and fairways but the greens are brutal. many have large patches of dirt or sand others have grass that looks like it has been beaten up on for months. Dont spend your money here until they get this fixed. There are plenty of good places to play that have better greens
WestRidge Golf Course
Played On 05/27/2018Greens need help
On about 12 of the 18 greens there were dead spots or sandy patches that need to be fixed. If this was an average municipal course I could under stand but not one that I paid $75.00 for. I wont be back until this issue is fixed.
The Bridges Golf Club
Played On 05/13/2018Great except for wind
The course was in great shape but the wind was brutal. Make sure you have calm winds before playing this course. The greens are very tough and your approach shots need to be on the right level or its a certain 3 putt
Old at Firewheel Golf Park
Played On 05/06/2018Concrete Bunkers!
This is a good course when it is kept up. The old course seems to be the step child of the Firewheel family. The bunkers dont have sand they have hard packed dirt that will do nothing but scar up your club. Many of them still have water in them. The other two courses Lakes and Bridges have great sand but the old course has been ignored.
Bear Creek Golf Club - West Course
Played On 05/05/2018Staff needs to be prepared for large turn outs
The course was in decent shape and it was the first good day we have had in over a month so you had to know it was going to busy. On top of that they had a massive charity event on the west course and they ran out of carts. My group was one of three that missed their tee time waiting for carts. All I can say is this is not the first time this course has let me down.
Ridgeview Ranch Golf Club
Played On 03/18/2018Great Staff! Way to go Piper
Most of these reviews talk about course conditions or how good the beer in the bar is but this one is different. After the seventh hole yesterday I noticed two kids not more than 20 had driven down to the eighth hole and cut in between my group and the group in front of us. I had a brief conversation with these two but they didn’t care and wouldn’t listen. I called the pro shop and let them know what was going on and before I could tee off and take a second shot Piper had already found the two and kicked them off the course. This is a young lady that deserves to be recognized for the way she handled this situation and her great customer service.
(Note to Arcis Golf. This is what you need at Bear Creek. Someone that will stand up for what’s right and not let Rif raff run the show. This is also the reason I will go back to this course and why I won’t go back to Bear Creek. )
The Bridges Golf Club
Played On 03/02/2018Great Course
How can I say anything bad when I got my first eagle of the season. The course was in great shape considering all the rain we got over the last two weeks. The bunkers need some help but again 10 out of the last 14 days it had rained. I love the course and will be back in the summer
Bear Creek Golf Club - West Course
Played On 01/28/2018Six man groups suck!
The course was in great shape for late January but the problem with this course is that they continue to allow groups of 5 and 6 people to play together. It slows down groups behind them and the marshal wont or refuses to break them up.

Played On 01/27/2018Winter golf
This course was in good shape for the last week in January. It’s a hard course even when it’s mid June but it was in good shape the greens were hard and wouldn’t hold a shot but again it’s still WINTER. If your reading this and it’s May or June give this course a try. It’s a good course that will challenge all levels of player.

great course but the wind made the day very tough. The conditions were great considering it was winter. The staff was great and the greens were in good shape.
Twin Creeks Golf Course
Played On 10/21/2017Sand is like concrete and play is slow.
I have played this course a few times but stayed away after what happened in the spring. I gave it another shot on Saturday but it was a mistake. The play was slow because there was no marshal out there to tell the group that was three holes ahead to get moving. It was so bad that the group behind us quit after 9 holes.
Although I only landed in two of them the sand traps were hard and had more dirt than sand in them. it was impossible not to blade the ball and send it flying over the green.
If you do go out there just know that there are some issues with the course.
Riverchase Golf Club
Played On 09/17/2017Average Course
I have played here before and thought Sunday would be a good day. I got stuck between two tournaments and the people I was suppose to play with were no shows. When you play as a single its boring and you end up waiting on every hole. That didnt bother me but the group behind me hit into me twice and then flew my cart on 17 tee. This isnt the fault of the course or the staff.
Its a good little course but $50 for a sunday round is a little much.
The Courses at Watters Creek - Traditions Course
Played On 09/04/2017No marshals or starter makes for a slow day
Normally I have good things to say about this place but yesterday was a disaster. I went off at around 1PM and there was no starter to keep the groups even and moving on time. Second there was no marshal to keep things from stacking up. By the time my group got to the 13th hole there were two groups waiting in front of us with another 2 behind us all waiting to tee off. At this point I said screw it and went in for the day. This is the second time this has happened and I dont think ill be back. its not worth the time or the money.
Bear Creek Golf Club - West Course
Played On 08/26/20175 some is the norm
This is a continuous issue at this course. The staff lets groups of 5 go out no matter what skill level the group has. This is rarely done at most courses and it's even more rare on a weekend. Bear Creek for some reason does both. This slows play, backs up tee boxes and frustrates players. I hate having to wait on every tee because of slow play. In the case of this round I had two fivesomes in front of the group I was in. I stopped playing here because of this issue and will not come back because of it.
Old at Firewheel Golf Park
Played On 08/20/2017Bunkers are mud
This is a good course that has its moments but the bunkers are brutal. In most cases the bunkers are down to rock hard dirt or they have massive man made holes in them. I don't understand why the city can keep the bunkers on the lakes and bridges course in such great shape but wont put good sand in the old course.
Pace of play was great and the staff was very nice. The greens were fast but true and other than the bunkers I have no complaints.
The Golf Club At Fossil Creek
Played On 08/19/2017Shot placement is a must!
This is a great course even though it is slightly more than Iron Horse or some of the other Arcis facilities in the area. This course is all about shot placement and course management. If you are the type of player that wants to go out and hit the tee shot as far as possible and then chip on this course will eat you for breakfast. many of the holes have creeks or marshes running across the fairways. Two or three of the holes have fairways that slope down to the water.
You need to play smart if you are going to shoot well at this course but I think its worth a persons time if they really want to see where their game is at.
the staff is friendly and the practice facilities are good. Like almost all of the Arcis facilities this one is great.
Iron Horse Golf Course
Played On 08/13/2017Rainy but will still go back
It had rained the night before so the course was soggy and cart path only but still enjoyed it. The staff was fantastic as always and I will be back. This course is a shot placement course and you can only user your driver on a few holes. It's a challenge for all levels and I would recommend it to anyone.
Holes 12 & 15 need major work because the fairways have been washed away but the grounds crew is working on them. Again great course with a fantastic staff.
Frisco Lakes Golf Club
Played On 06/07/2017Great course with fun holes
This was the first time I played this course and I was very impressed. It's not a long course but the greens make the accuracy of your approach shot vital. The staff was great and the practice facility was in great shape.
Old at Firewheel Golf Park
Played On 03/31/2017Good course but needs some TLC
This is the oldest of the three Firewheel courses and it still offers a challenge to most who play it. However there are some areas where the city of Garland has neglected it. The bunkers need work with some new sand instead of the hard clay sand mix that is in there now. Another area of attention needs to be the tee boxes. They need to be leveled out and reseeded.
The staff is great and it's a good course for just about anyone. I just hope the powers that be will fix the issues I mentioned above.
