My review was not informative enough for Bergen county staff members to understand. Act as if they don’t know the course is in terrible shape .
To be clear because I have read other reviews. Winter golf is not an excuse to have terrible course conditions. If it is that bad out on the course it should be closed until conditions , geese droppings are picked up & water recedes
Upon arrival I was told the EVERY HOLE is temporary greens and tee boxes . When I asked why every hole , because I play other courses in the area & none of temp greens or tee boxes , staff member replied “ that’s how we do things around here !”
Also was told the course will close by 3 pm and will have to make our way in at 2:30 - new to me....suns still out but not golf can be played .. all other course open till 4:45
I’m here to golf so I go and try to enjoy the day but didn’t know the course was covereddddd in geese droppings .
Zero maintenance on temp greens had to use me putter to create a lane for ball to go through droppings .
I have played OP before and it was never this bad. Course screams “I don’t care”
I am a bergen county golf member and leave to play in Morris or Hudson county golf systems.
Bottom line
1.rude staff
2. Course conditions terrible
3. Temp greens and Tee boxes on every hole
4. Geese droppings unbearable
5. Course not walkable because of droppings
6. Cart path and actual greens covered in geese droppings ( not trying to up keep the important greens )
Why would anyone return when there are better options in the area or shirt drive away for a decent round of golf

East Orange Golf Course
Played On 08/15/2019$50 to play on a weekday morning
This is a $30 course ...in poor shape , greens & fairways torn up . Never seen so much sand on the greens before.
$50 on a weekday is way too much
