Caverns Country Club & Resort

Rainy morning, guys were in the club house waiting for the mountain rain to clear. What followed was an unexpected 3 hour round on a hilly course. This course had the darkest green greens and were in magnificent condition. Every putt rolled well but it's hard to find a flat putt. This course has a lot of character with some serious elevation changes. The reason for the average ratings on conditions was the rough and tee boxes were in ok condition but he greens...... were amazing. The only thing better was the friendliness of the staff and the price. Bill was a great starter and a beer and pack of crackers was 3 dollars. When I finished on 18 I had a feeling of fulfillment, the course will take your mind to a distant place with its rolling hills and nice views.
Pinecrest Golf Course

Pinecrest is a great course to work on your game. A nice walk after work when you want to play a two hour round. The greens have been in great condition, the construction of the dam on 7/8 has healed. The course is short and tight in some areas. You will only hit driver on one hole, that is why it's a good test for your other clubs. I've always enjoyed my rounds here, great staff and great patrons.

This is the best practice facility in the area. This course and range is used to better your game not challenge it. Great short game area and range. 9 hole par 3 course is beautiful just not very challenging.
Country Club of Fairfax

This course is humbling. I play here once a year with the VSGA, the parking lot is full of people astonished at the number they shot that day. The course is in tremendous shape. The greens might've the fastest and firmest I've ever played. Tee boxes, practice area, fairways are all in great shape. The problem with this course is the design, downhill lies to small uphill firm greens. The greens won't hold approach shots and chipping becomes an adventure. I've come to admire this course after a few years, most don't agree.
