White/Blue at Myakka Pines Golf Club
Played On 01/24/2023Still a great course
Hurricane Ian thinned out the lush areas, but Myakka Pines is still a great course to play. There’s just enough trouble to keep you interested, but not so much to frustrate you beyond a normal round. Speed of play was very good. GPS carts are monitored.
Harbor Shores
Played On 09/02/2020Like having your own private course
Once again Harbor Shores delivers a relaxed and relaxing challenge of a round. A threesome of women were welcome. We never waited. In fact while it was a busy day, we never saw anyone else. We didn’t even mind losing a few golf balls! The course is in great shape. The trigger ball removal tools take some practice but we got the hang of it.
Elle in the Grille provided excellent and careful service for our 19th hole drinks and meal.
White/Blue at Myakka Pines Golf Club
Played On 02/04/2020Pleasure to play
Over the past few years, the pace of play at Myakka had become a real problem. The introduction of GPS carts, and the use of electronic nudges to keep people moving has meant the last two rounds played by our foursome were just under 4 hours. Excellent pace of play. The condition of the course has continued to improve as well.
The Woodlands Course at Whittaker
Played On 06/05/2014Challenging greens amid beautiful setting
Whittaker Woods is a lovely course. Its set-up makes you feel like you are alone on the golf course, with each hole as its own little island. The front winds through trees with challenging landing areas, while the back is longer and more open.
A round of golf at Whittaker is everything you would want it to be, and the green fees, especially for seniors, are very reasonable.
