Asheboro Country Club
Played On 09/28/2016Beware, greens in bad shape.
I called a friend of mine last week that just played Asheboro Country Club. He was very upset because of the price they paid considering the course conditions. They played on a Friday morning so he paid weekend rates. I thought I would check out the conditions for myself so I played on Wednesday September 28 ,4pm the Twilight hours for $19. I have played here many times and usually the course is in decent shape. There are very bad spots on most of the greens with very little smooth / putting surface. Right now this course is only good for a quick practice round for 1 or 2 golfers after 4pm. You will pay $33 or more on the weekend and you will be very disappointed with the pace of play and/or the course conditions .The fairways were decent but the greens were pitiful especially for this time of the year. If you're visiting from out of town read this first then find another course.
Thank you for playing our course and taking the time to comment. The course has suffered over the last few weeks because we have had a very long and hot summer. We have bentgrass greens, which do not do well when it is as hot as it has been. Many courses have completely lost their bent greens in the region, so we are not the only ones. Please try our course again when it cools down and you will find that the greens are back to normal. You said yourself that usually the course is in decent shape, so why leave us a bad review over one time out? We hope to see you soon. -RS Warrior Golf
