Reems Creek Golf Course
Played On 5/15/2013Several told me "It's Not As Nice As It Used To Be"
Looks like a golf course surrounded by a hay field. You are left with many uphill blind shots to very undulating greens. If your approach shot is just a few yards short of the green you are chiping from the rough. Many sidehill and up/down stances. Rough where there should be fairway on several holes. Do you really need five or six large sand traps around the greens? One par four has not one but two lakes in the fairway. Sandtraps are mostly filled with reddish clay. There are no WOW! holes and the views are nothing special.
Cummings Cove Golf & Country Club
Played On 5/13/2013I enjoyed the course very much.
Fun course and very friendly staff, especially Bill at check-in.. Multi-level greens. Several beautiful par 3's. Numerous holes offer nice views.
Persimmon Hill Golf Club
Played On 4/30/2013Beautiful layout, wide fairways, plenty of sand and lakes
Always been a favorite. Greens should be very good by mid-May.
Maple/Willow at Hunter's Creek Plantation
Played On 4/17/2013This course is not as nice as it was 10 years ago when I last played it,
Most sand traps have mud or rust colored sand instead of white. Greens are o.k.
Lots of water in one of the traps on no. 1 on the Oaks nine.
This is a facility with 27 holes. In my opinion the Oaks nine should be closed as it offers little in golfing or visual enjoyment.
