Mission Inn Resort & Club - Las Colinas Course
Played On 03/26/2022Great people, terrible pace of play
Saturday round. Course in decent shape except for some tee boxes mostly dirt. Range also mostly dirt. The people from car to pro shop and one ranger we saw all very nice. But pace of play was awful. Teed off 1030, finished at 410. 5:40 minutes is unacceptable for a course this decent and no cart path only rules in place. Management should try harder on that issue. Beverage cart should let players come to them after making their shots not drive up to them in the fairway after they hit causing more delays. Simple fixes it would seem.
Westfields Golf Club
Played On 08/22/2020One of the best around
Every person at this course was friendly and helpful. A true gift of service. Minor issue getting a solo cart during Covid which was eventually fixed. Punched greens took a little away but the weather has beaten the area and many other courses have fared much worse. Really enjoyed our day. Thank you Westfields!
Tanglewood Manor Golf Club
Played On 08/20/2020Nice people and nice course!
Everyone I interacted with (with all Covid safety of course) was very helpful and kind. Felt like the Weekday 11am dealtime made this a steal. The initial holes were really beautiful. Some blind shots and radical uphill and downhills later were difficult. First time here so Will play it better next time. Thanks!
New York Country Club
Played On 08/30/2014A great course with excellent staff but the greens need work!
In the beginning of the summer, I would have given this course 4 stars. I have been playing it for about 2 years. The staff and facilities are great. There are some huge elevation changes on holes 1, 9, 10 and 18 as the clubhouse is on a huge hill overlooking the course below. Challenging and fun usually. This time around while the course was pretty empty and pace of play was great, the greens were almost all punched and bumpy making it impossible to post a good score. They did give out a ticket for a free beer/soda and a hot dog which was nice but if i had paid full price for this course ($120 in prime), I would have been livid. Look for a discounted tee time of $80 or less when the greens return to form and this place will be your favorite like it has been mine.
Marine Park Golf Course
Played On 08/24/2014Best for the $ in the 5 boroughs
Marine Park is very flat and very long with some pretty difficult putts based on the pin placement. The greens are in good shape though and the work they continue to do with the burms in between the holes is giving it more character than the former glorified city links course. The staff is of mixed friendliness. Treat them with respect and you likely will receive the same in return. Cant beat it for $52 walking in prime time since its close to my house, The pace of play can be very slow like all city courses due to overbooking and the quality of some of the golfers. Expect anywhere from 5 to 6 hours on a weekend.
Hello sommercamp,
We are delighted you took the time to review your experience here at Westfields. Our sincerest apologies you had a minor issue getting a solo cart as some days that are busier than others we run close on providing carts for everyone. To help negate this issue we have recently received cart dividers for those tough scenarios. As always we also offer complimentary push carts should you choose to walk. We hope to see you again in the near future!
Sincerely,
The Westfields Team
