Couldn’t have asked for more perfect conditions. Great fairways, true roll on greens, and lush but consistent rough.

It’s been a while since I played a round at Dos Lagos but every time I head out there, I always enjoy the experience!

Whether it’s the great staff at the pro-shop, the free sleeve of balls, or the great price for 18 holes, I always feel like the folks at Dos Lagos have perfected customer service!

But what I appreciate most about Dos Lagos is the work that the Superintendent and the staff do to keep the conditions so good here. Fairways are always in great shape and mowed with care and precision.

I’ve played The Ike and The Babe courses many times over the past decade and I have to say that the conditions on The Ike today were the best I’ve ever seen. Plush fairways with perfect lies every time and greens rolling nicely and always fair.

Congratulations to the staff at Industry Hills for all their preparations and hard work to safely welcome everyone back.

I booked Cross Creek this weekend because I visited Temecula with a chance to play a round for the first time in all my visits. I chose Cross Creek because I had heard great things about the course from a few golfing buddies over the years and it was also affordable! I also appreciated the staff being so welcoming and supportive of my first ever experience at Cross Creek (the starter and pro shop staff were 1st rate).

I am so glad that this was my introduction to golf in the area because I could not have been more pleased with both the challenging layout and my corresponding play!

Getting to go out by myself as the first morning tee time made this a truly peaceful round where I could focus on the golf course strategy that was instantly required without any distraction.

Since I am historically more comfortable and more successful at intentionally moving the ball right or left off the tee and from any place on the fairway or rough, this course was perfectly designed for my game. There was not a single tee shot where I didn't think of playing a draw or fade and made the deliberate setup and swings modifications to execute the shot.

Perhaps the best part of today's round was that it confirmed my skill as a shotmaker and how I need to play every course with deliberate intent to shape a shot, even if the course is wide open. I usually struggle on courses where there are wide open fairways and I setup to just hit it straight and struggle all day.

So after shooting a very enjoyable 78 featuring an endless number of successfully shaped shots, I will come back here again and again for more fun! And when I am playing back home, I'll remember that my game is about creative and athletic shotmaking and not robotic straight ball striking.

Although my original booking was for the Mountain course, I was approached by the attentive staff to play the Valley course. Since I had arrived rather early, the friendly staff went out of their way to take care of me. It was a great round, the greens were fabulous and the fairways plush.

Keep up the great work of staying a cut above the competition!
