Buenaventura Golf Course
Played On 07/20/2020Good course, not our favorite, little expensive for what you get
We like this course but others in the area are better. The course is short which is a nice break, but some of the greens are tough. Be aware the tee times do not include a cart. They honored our teeoff.com price which said it had a cart included. Otherwise it's $16/per person to add a cart. I thought for what the course is $60 would be a bit much for a round here. It's worth maybe $45 total. We'll come back maybe, but not our favorite.
River Course at Alisal
Played On 07/13/2020Fun day out in the Santa Barbara Wine Country
We had never played this course and needed a break from LA golf. The weather was warmer than by the coast but not as hot as the valley - just perfect! The course was in good condition and the pace of play was pretty good. They have a great patio area we would've liked to sit at, but no time. The food was ok, not the best. We would definitely recommend the course to friends as the staff was friendly, the price was affordable and it's a fun course!
Rustic Canyon Golf Course
Played On 02/25/2018Not their best, but still love the course
We love Rustic, we've played here many times. However, on Sunday, the pace of play was horrible. We started at 1pm and didn't finish past 15. There was SO many people put out at the same time it was 15 minutes waiting between shots. Also, I understand we're in a drought, but the fairways have gone down significantly in the last few months. We played here about 3-4 weeks ago and the fairways have really gotten dry since. I would love to say we'll go back anyway, but that pace of play was really bad. AND Rustic has all these signs around saying to be watchful of the pace of play, funny since they pushed tons of groups out all together to sit and wait. It was painful.
Ojai Valley Inn
Played On 11/19/2017Beautiful course, beautiful day!
We had a great day at Ojai Valley Inn. The pace of play was excellent on the front 9, the back 9 got a little slow. Otherwise, the service was great - friendly people, course was in good shape, will definitely come back. We do think that Ojai Valley Inn is becoming a little too crowded for our taste, but hoping it doesn't ruin this little gem outside of LA.
Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon - Legends Course
Played On 02/20/2017Course in good shape, slow pace of play
We really liked the course. We started on the Champions course which was more hilly and SO crowded. After a few holes, we went back to Legends. The pace of play was a little better, but they need to work on spreading out the tee times. We probably won't come back anytime soon unless it was a weekday. Weekends are just too too busy when there's so many options nearby.
Ojai Valley Inn
Played On 11/20/2016Quiet, peaceful round with no one around
We had our family playing 2 groups. The starter was great with accommodating us all, we loved him! The course is still in good shape even due to the drought of SoCal. We love how quiet and peaceful it is here. Ojai Valley Inn has become a "trendy" place it seems, just hope the golfing stays classy and one of our favorite places to relax and play a round. Also I understand if you want to hit the driving range, but if you're hipsters drinking wine, maybe chatting and "accidentally" throwing clubs might not be the best around people that pay for the Ojai golf experience.
Cherry Creek Golf Club
Played On 07/02/2016Great course, but SLOW pace of play
We had high hopes for this course. We're not from Detroit and Cherry Creek was rated one of the top courses in the area. The pace of play was SO slow that we skipped a few holes to get thru about 12 before dark and we started at 12:30. There was a wedding while we were there too, I understand weddings bring in a lot more money than golfers, but they closed the snack shop and blocked everything off, which was a little frustrating considering we were waiting so long between holes. I would've loved to give a better review, but sad to say, we will not return.
Upland Hills Country Club
Played On 11/08/2015Decent course, loved the clubhouse
We golfed 9 holes because the pace was a little slow. There was a 4 some in front of us and they were moving pretty sluggish. After 9, we decided we wouldn't finish in time, so we went the the clubhouse. The bartender was awesome! We sat and watched football, drank and ate. She was super accommodating and very friendly.
Indian Canyons Golf Resort - South Course
Played On 07/06/2014Great course, great customer service!
We love Indian Canyon. It was extremely hot- 109 degrees, so we could only muster up 9 holes. Greens are slow and fairways are fast. We like both the north and south courses - the north is between authentic Palm Springs houses, very nice. The south is more open and some holes have a beautiful view of the mountain. A must go to in Palm Springs! Very friendly staff at both north and south!
