The Golf Club at Margaritaville Lake Resort, Lake Conroe
Played On 05/07/2022Good Layout, Horrendous Conditions
I played this course before it was bought out by the "Margaritaville" brand. Went back hoping that the course would be in better shape than in years past. Sadly, it was much much worse... Greens are beyond recovery, water filled most of the bunkers (water that had obviously been there for some time) and the fairways were not well maintained. This is another one of those courses that has such great potential. Tight fairways, great layout, and good green complexes. I really wish the resort would spend some time, effort, and money into fixing the course up. Would not recommend spending hard earned money here.

This course is now marked down as my favorite course I've ever played, and I've been fortunate to play some of the top courses in the country. Absolutely stunning layout, extravagant views, wonderful course conditions, great service, and awesome pro shop! I didn't have a SINGLE complaint. I honestly didn't want the round to end. Hole 16 is probably one of the best/coolest holes I have ever seen or played. And 17 is a very special par 3. I can't wait to play here again, you HAVE to play this golf course!!!
Antler Creek Golf Course
Played On 07/24/20183rd longest course in the U.S
Ok so. I wanted so badly to love this course... But that was not the case
Staff: I was not greeted by any pro shop staff. Once I get not their attention all I got was "tee time?" And "last name?" And then "here's your cart key". Had to figure out where the carts were by myself and was given no direction to the 1st tee. Was never offered range balls.
Course: the pictures on the website might be the most misleading pictures of all time. I have played many golf courses throughout the U.S and this was by far the worst conditions I have ever played. They can blame it on the bad winter, or the dry summer, but I have played 10+ courses in the area and none of which were even close to the devistation this course had on display. Fairways: unplayable. Tee boxes: horrible. Greens: Inconsistent and spotty.
So why 2 stars and not 1 you ask? 2 reasons; 1: it is a "bucket list course" being 6th longest in the world and 3rd in the U.S. 2: The food/Bev service was solid and the food tasted good.
Overall Colorado has some AWESOME golf (Colorado National has been a great deal this summer) and there are many many other options out there. Take your money elsewhere (maybe spend an extra $15-20) and play a course that actually has grass in the fairways.

Woodlands Country Club - The Player Course
Played On 05/23/2014Great course
I love the course and it was in great condition. A few problems. The hole 9 green is totally unfair and It ruined my round. One of the assistant pros was very snobby and rude. He actually yelled at me an my friend for chipping in the wrong place... Yes a legitimate yell. But other than that I would recommend.
