Palm Desert Country Club
Played On 03/09/2024Great Course Conditions
We really enjoyed playing Palm Desert. The course was in great shape and the greens pristine. They were faster than what we’re used to, so it took some time to get used to the speed. There was no one in front or behind us, so the pace was perfect. The carts were pretty dated, but they worked. Several times it was difficult to get the brake to engage. The pro shop was relatively small and didn’t have much merchandise. But overall, it was a wonderful round of golf and we’d definitely play again.
The Raven Golf Club at Three Peaks
Played On 08/29/2023Tough, But Beautiful
There are a lot of ups and downs on this course - literally. One par 3 has a 20 - 30 yard elevation differential because of the height of the tee vs the green. (I parred it. 😁). I think there is one, maybe two, holes that are straight. The rest have one or two doglegs. It’s not an easy course, especially if you’ve never played it before. You have to know where to Hoyt the ball to stay out of trouble. But the views are incredible. Plan to take some pictures. The course was in excellent condition. Fairway entrance and exit points are clearly marked. Give it a try.
Celebration Golf Club
Played On 05/21/2023Great Golf Course
My wife and I played Celebration last year when we were in Orlando. We loved it and that’s the reason I booked it this trip. It’s a wonderful layout - challenging, but fair. And the course is in fabulous shape. Green fees are very reasonable, especially for Orlando The staff members are super nice and friendly. It’s everything I look for in a great golf course. I highly recommend Celebration. Do yourself a favor and give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.
Kissimmee Bay Country Club
Played On 10/30/2022Great Value
After paying big bucks for some other courses in Orlando and being very disappointed with the conditions, it was great to find a course with great conditions and a wonderful pace of play for a very reasonable cost. We played on a Sunday for $49. Quite the deal.
Celebration Golf Club
Played On 10/24/2022Great Course
We’ve played three upscale courses on this trip and Celebration was clearly the best. The staff was friendly and welcoming. They have a driving range, chipping areas and putting greens. Range balls are not included, but are reasonably priced. The course is challenging, but fair. The fairways and greens were in immaculate condition. Celebration will be #1 on my list the next time we visit Orlando.

Played On 02/25/2022Disappointing
This course was not worth what I paid. First, the description I read on Golf Now implied there was a driving range, and when I checked in I asked where it was. The staff member pointed toward a chipping area and said it was over there. Turns out it was three poorly maintained booths with nets into which you could hit a ball off a well-worn mat. There was a nicely maintained putting green though.
The course itself was not in good condition. The fairways had many bald areas where I often found myself hitting off of bare dirt or sand. The greens, while visually in great condition, were exceptionally slow. No one in our group could force themselves to hit putts as hard as they needed to be hit. Even downhill putts would stop painfully short.
Cart paths were horrible. They were falling apart and had not been maintained at all. I would not give this course another try.
Hawk's Landing Golf Club
Played On 07/16/2021Great Course
I was wowed from the moment I was greeted in the Pro Shop. The pro was friendly and welcoming. He even found a way to save me some money on my round. We moved on to the driving range where the starter gave us a rundown on the facilities and course. Again, extremely friendly. The course was in superior condition. We hardly saw another person our entire round. Next time I’m in Orlando, I’m headed back to Hawk’s Landing.
Coyote Ridge Golf Club
Played On 07/05/2019Great Layout
Really enjoyed this course. I was surprised there were so many hills and water, although the water didn’t come into play much. I would have rated the course conditions higher, but the frequent rains had affected them. It was a fun course and will certainly play it again.

The Highlands Golf Course
Played On 01/08/2017Lots of Fun
This is a really fun course. We enjoyed it so much the first time, we came back two days later and played again. The first day, the weather was cold and windy. We were just about the only people on the course. The second day the course was busy. We were only a twosome, so we had to wait on a few holes, but it wasn't bad. The course was in good shape, especially for January. The greens were a bit slow, but not too bad. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Next time we're in Sarasota, we'll play there again.
La Cantera Golf Club

The course was great as were the staff. However, the GPS system in the cart was way off on yardage. I always carry my laser yardage finder with me and found yardages were off by thirty yards on some holes. It was less on others, but never quite correct. And we were told by the starter that the yardages were calculated to the pin, not the middle of the green. The other thing that really bugs me about any course is when you finish, guys automatically start cleaning your clubs. They don't ask, they just do it. Then you feel obligated to give them a tip. I don't mind that courses provide this service, I just would appreciate the courtesy of being asked.
