Ballycastle Golf Club
Played On 05/03/2023A wonderful setting for an interesting golf course
My wife and I played this course on a beautiful early Summer afternoon which suited us perfectly. There were not many other golfers ahead of us, but those whom we did meet were friendly and helpful. The course as reported elsewhere is in three distinct phases - a parkland section of fairly demanding longer holes to begin, then over the road to the coastal strip and some lovely links holes climbing up the cliffs, before the second half is predominantly downland golf with some less interesting holes to return to the clubhouse. However, the 17th and 18th are two great finishing holes, especially if your match is on the line!
Astonishing quality of really dry greens for time of year and lovely fairways everywhere. The 10th is an astonishing hole with a raised tee box with dramatic 360 degree views, but then an upward shot to a green which must be another 40 feet higher at least over a chasm.
Pro (Damian) was immensely helpful in getting us on the course and with advice.
We will definitely come back for more, but you probably need to pick a day without extreme winds to enjoy the experience fully.

This is a really too course with some of the best views imaginable. Condition of the course especially the greens was impeccable for early spring after a dry spell. Wonderful layout of varied holes- superbly placed bunkers to catch you out if not playing up to greens properly.
A really exceptional experience and very reasonably priced for visitors on Sat and Sun pm

Played On 08/28/2021Superb links experience
My wife and I booked to play on a Saturday afternoon when the visitor rates are very reasonable.
Course was superbly set up for late August. Fairways running very well indeed and greens in fantastic condition.
A really enjoyable links course- with splendid views of Arran across the Firth of Clyde.
We will return and play it again.
Grims Dyke Golf Club
Played On 12/27/2018A good round in mid winter
Had never played course before, but it was a very pleasant surprise. The course was in excellent condition for late December with greens that looked immaculate. Certainly not a long course with a number of par 4s under 300 yds but ideal for a competitive game with family after Xmas. Layout interesting and good views. I will return.
