Sugarbush Golf Course
Played On 07/28/2020Tight, spread out
I play here regularly and lose a TON of balls. But the kids find more than I lose. Yep, kids are free here with you. I enjoy walking usually but at the bush I ride. Layout is very spread out, which is great for a private experience. Long distances between green and next tee. Quiet, fun course. Saw a bear and missed a moose walking across the 12th green by 10 minutes, saw the tracks and the group in front of us spoke about it. I try to avoid the busiest times. I have not had the most pleasant experiences with courtesy from other guests on more than one occasion.
Montpelier Elks Country Club

I love it there. My kids learned (still) there, they play free up to 12. The staff and members are extremely kid friendly. Can get out any day just about once you figure it out. Least expensive golf around and there is nothing wrong with it. Nothing fancy, they work hard with what they have. Still gotta make the shots. Always see wildlife there; turkey, deer, fox, and bear we have spotted this season alone. Has a couple steep climbs but we walk every time. "Back nine" has a few different looks as the tee boxes are arranged differently (9-hole course, save for 2/11 they are separate par 3's). We will continue going back.
Stowe Country Club
Played On 06/05/2020Great time.
Enjoyed a complimentary round unsuspectingly one day. Myself and two young boys. Had a blast. No waiting, wasn't pushed, about as pleasant as a round could be when you hit the ball the way I do. Fairways are super soft and about perfect. Rough was great, on every hole. Greens were big and fast, held shots that weren't skulled. Beautiful scenery as expected.
Woodbury Golf Course
Played On 08/05/2019Backyard Par 3
Hey, you want a place to bring your kid(s) to get a taste of the game? This is the place. Free for kids. Been there three times, never busy. It's in someone's backyard basically, he does the maintenance, and does a fine job for himself. I enjoy it up there. Pretty and quiet. I have yet to par each hole consecutively so I am not better than it. Fun for what it is.
