Oak Valley Golf Club
Played On 02/17/2024Challenging layout but needs a little more care
Played from the white tees and the course is certainly long enough from these tees for most reasonably skilled players.
Greens are in good condition and fast.
Fairways are in average condition with patchiness all around. Very tight lies in many cases. So they could improve here.
Bunkers in good condition and well positioned.
This is a challenging layout with fairways tight on many of the Par 4s and 5s. Therefore, driver is not always the best option off the tee.
I will certainly play here again and I’m glad that I decided to play here given it was only because both Morongo courses down the road were not available.
CrossCreek Golf Club
Played On 10/22/2023I have played here many times.
The greens were immaculate today. However, the pace of play particularly on the back nine was nothing short of disgraceful.
The group in front of us was extremely and painfully slow golf just simply isn’t fun when this is the case. There was nobody for miles in front of them. There was no Marshall on the course that we could see to manage the pace of play. Eventually when we arrived at the 17th Tee and they were hitting 2 to 3 balls each we went to the 18th tee instead.
Really poor marshaling performance by Cross Creek.
Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon - Champions Course
Played On 01/13/2023Dreadful pace of play
I have played this course on numerous occasions, and usually it’s a fun day on a good quality course.
However, on this occasion, we had a group of Korean golfers in front of us. For most of the first time they had about five players, all playing multiple balls.
The sad thing is the starter knew that they were going to be slow and amazingly mentioned to hit up on them if this were the case.
The worst thing on the planet for all golfers is a round that takes perhaps five hours, where virtually every shot requires waiting of 5 minutes and where the group in front does not allow you or ask you to play through especially when they have no one in front. We could’ve just driven past them, but why when we have paid to play 18 holes?
The management at Morongo need a rocket to make sure this doesn’t happen, because even though we know they make good money from Korean golfers / students coming to play there, it disappoints locals, who just want to play a relaxing
round of golf.
Not once did we see in Marshall.
Get your act together Morongo Golf Course Management.
Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon - Champions Course
Played On 04/02/2021Good Course & Enjoyable Round
I have never played this course and it was worth the journey.
The course was in good condition. Plenty of good practice facilities. Range balls were quite inexpensive.
The pace of play was brilliant, better than anything I’ve experienced and perhaps two years. As a group of four, we easily completed the round in four hours with no waiting at all.
The only negatives:
The tee boxes on each hole had no signs to indicate what number hole. Strange!
One other inconvenience is that the golf carts do not give adequate notice about approaching restricted areas. There was one hole where we had to actually push the cart out of the restricted zone. Silly really.
Other than those couple of negatives above, I highly recommend this course.
Arrowood Golf Course
Played On 06/23/2019Great course but shockingly slow
Although this course is fantastic in terms of the amenities, layout and conditions, the pace of play was a complete disgrace. Waiting 5 and 10 minutes on every shot makes for a completely unenjoyable round. No marshall to be seen for 17 holes.
If this keeps up, we won’t be back irrespective of how good the course is.
Pala Mesa Resort
Played On 06/09/2018Average
Fairly average day all round.
Pace of play was extremely slow and that’s an understatement. We had to wait on every tee and second shot, up to 10 minutes on occasions.
5 hours to complete a round is too long.
The course Marshall must do a better job of keeping the pace of play fast.
No balls in the practice ball machine no chance to warm up.
Greens were in good condition but very slow.
Fairways were green and cut reasonably tight but there were numerous GUR areas.
They’ll have to improve to get us to return.
CrossCreek Golf Club
Played On 03/04/2017Good Course, Great Value
Second time playing here and apart from the cart battery going flat on the second hole and a bit of waiting, it was a very pleasurable experience.
After recent rains in SoCal, the course was lush and green and in excellent condition. Greens were true and of good speed.
The Hot Deal on Golf Now made it even better!
Well done CrossCreek GC and Golf Now!
We will be back!
