Twin Oaks Golf Course

Played On 08/26/2020Fun Course, average condition, poor pace of play
Have played here many times and this is still one of my favorites. This round was very slow because of two foursomes ahead of our group. Waited a lot to be respectful. Course condition were average. Some greens were nice, some had terrible patches on them. I would recommend to others.

Played here twice this year, both times were fantastic. Just want to say thank you to the management there. They ask you 3 questions regarding covid-19 (travel, symptoms, etc.) and take your temperature before allowing you to golf. Good to see people being safe during the pandemic!
Difficult to find any faults with this course. Nice mix of easy and difficult holes.

Played On 05/16/2019Has Potential, Bunkers Worst Ever Seen
This course has a lot of potential, I played the front 9 of Willows and then the back 9 of Pioneer today for the first time. The staff and starters/ranges were very nice in my interactions with them. The fairways were in pretty good shape and the course layout was both challenging and fun.
I took three stars off because many of the greens on the Willows had bumpy, dead areas. Tee boxes on both the Willows and Pioneer were mediocre at best (some had uneven lies). The major disappointment were the bunkers: the absolute worst I ever saw on any golf course! I attached a picture, which shows the green side bunker on Pioneer #16. Literally every bunker on Willows and Pioneer had grass growing out of them, were hard as clay, and none of them were maintained at all. In addition, none of the bunkers on the Willows front 9 had rakes lying near them? I guess the staff gave up on them and they wanted players to as well...
For the staff who maintain the golf courses at Kenton County: why even have "bunkers" on the course if you do not maintain them? Fill them in and just have grass in their place. It's embarrassing to operate a golf course with EVERY bunker in terrible condition. It speaks to your work ethic and care of the course, quite frankly. No effort was put into any bunker, please see the attached picture.
I really do see potential in this course, though. A little effort in certain areas (the greens and bunkers) can go a long way! I do not know if I would recommend playing here this year, but would like to try it in the future to see if any improvements are made.
