Mallard Creek Golf Club - The Lakes Course
Played On 04/04/2023THIS COURSE NEEDS BETTER MAINTENANCE
THE COURSE SHOWED FOUR TEES ON THE CARD, BUT THERE WERE NO APPARENT SENIOR OR LADIES TEES NOR WERE THEY MARKED WITH TEE MARKERS. ALSO THE COURSE DOES NOT DRAIN WELL AS IT WAS WETTER THAN IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN, IMO.

We were rained out after five holes, but the guy at the counter had to check with the owner to see if we could be given rainchecks, which I thought odd. We did get them, though.

I like the course a lot and it was in very good condition, but so many times I did not know how far I was from the green. The markers in the fairways are overgrown, hard to find and sometimes confusing. On one hole, for example, there was a white and a yellow disc that both had "75" written on them and neither was that distance (although the yellow one might have been 175 yards away!). I have told this to many personnel at courses with similar problems: All you need is three marker sticks on each hole, a blue one for 200 yards, a white one for 150 and a red for 100. They can be seen from a distance and golfers can calculate pretty well how far away they are from the green using them as a reference.
OK,, Paulagro, if you want to buy me one, I;m in. Anyway, using them slows down play and can be annoying. One guy I play with uses his regardless of where he is on the hole. He could be ten yards from the green and he still pulls it out!
Dude, buy a rangefinder. Shouldn't be without one anyways. Yardage markers are going by the wayside, plus you'll get yardage right to the pin.

Played On 04/06/2019PUT UP SOME SIGNS!
THIS IS A LONG, CARTS-ONLY COURSE THAT WINDS THRU A HOUSING DEVELOPMENT. WE GOT LOST SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE THERE WAS INSUFFICIENT SIGNAGE DIRECTING US TO THE NEXT TEE. ALSO, THERE WAS NO DRINKING WATER ON THE COURSE (JUST EMPTY STATIONS THAT SHOULD HAVE HAD SOME) AND EVEN THE ON-COURSE RESTROOMS WERE ALL "CLOSED FOR THE SEASON!" LASTLY, WE WERE COMING FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF TOWN AND NOT SURE HOW TO GET THERE, SO WE CALLED THE GUY AT THE COURSE FOR HELP, BUT HE GAVE US A ROUTE THAT WAS A VERY POOR ONE (AND NOT EVEN COMPLETELY ACCURATE), MAKING US LATE FOR OUR TEE TIME. WE LEARNED OF THE BEST ROUTE BACK AND IT TOOK 20 MINUTES LESS DRIVE TIME!
Hi jriley1509. We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the teams in charge so they can work to make changes. Thanks for visiting Roses Run. We hope to see you again in the future.
You played on April 4th and expected a dry course? The whole part of the county doesn't drain well,, you're lucky there wasn't still snow pack out there, ;)
