The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes
Played On 02/23/2020Cart path only
As a single, I was waiting on every shot but that is to be expected when it is cart path only. Considering, 4 and 1/2 hours is not bad. Actually the course was in good shape for this time of the year, except for 10 - 15-foot edge along the cart paths, very wet and it was obvious why it was cart path only. Tee boxes and greens were in good shape.

Played On 02/11/2020not my first time
Considering the time of the year, the course was in OK shape, the cart paths, as always were in need of repair but I have seen worse.
Holiday Hills Resort and Golf Club
Played On 10/28/2018Disappointed in Brown Management
As a Brown management run course I was very disappointed in the course condition. I play Brown managed courses in Hilton Head SC and this does not measure up. The greens and fairways were ok but off the fairway the conditions were extremely poor. no grass, dirt, rocks... It very apparent there is and has been no maintenance off the fairways and greens. The potential of this course is there but Brown needs to do a lot of work.
Golden Bear Golf Club at Indigo Run
Played On 03/29/2018Fun Course
People were great, course needs some TLC. The thing I like about this Jack Nicklaus course is I believe when he designed it he was thinking about for the average golfer. Don't get me wrong there is plenty of challenge but it is a fun course to play. The greens are challenging but fair. For the most part the fairways wide at least they do not feel tight. The course was dry but then again it is early Spring.
The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes
Played On 03/22/2018Not a typical links style course
Tee boxes were a little beat up, greens were good, It looks like Mother Nature is the only water the course gets however considering the time of year... the course was pretty dry and brown. In terms of hazards, what you see is what you get, nothing hidden except the 9th hole, water in front of the green. Pretty windy the day we played would like to play again when not so windy. Cart ran OK but was in pretty bad shape, the cover to protect the clubs in case of rain was ripped to shreds.
Pinecrest Golf Club
Played On 03/10/2018The course itself looked tired, the greens were OK. Have played this course many times and this is probably the worse condition overall I have have seen this course. I am not saying it is in terrible shape but the course looked tired. I will go back and hopefully with some warmer weather it will perk up.
Pinecrest Golf Club
Played On 02/24/2018Always a good buy
The course was in very good shape considering the time of year, The greens were fast but consistent. They mus have had a tourney earlier in the day but we were able to move along just fine.
Holiday Hills Resort and Golf Club
Played On 10/18/2017good value for the $$
Couple of funky holes but overall a fun place to play, would definitely recommend this course. Touch Screen GPS's on the cart along with ball and club washers is a great added value. There is another course in the area that charges over $100.00 which is a lot more scenic and better kept but they do not have GPS or ball/club washers on their carts. For the money and your average golfer, this is a great deal.
Rum River Hills Golf Club
Played On 08/20/2017Course conditions need help
Being retired I have the opportunity to play all over the twin cities and Rum River Hills is by far in the worse condition I have played. Years ago Rum River was our go-to course because of course conditions and layout. Regretfully I can no longer say that. Obviously the layout is the same however course conditions are very poor mainly the ruff. Dead grass from cutting wet is left on the ruff which apparently is not cut that often, in many places the ruff looks like it was cut with a weed wacker. The greens are in OK condition but if rolled would be better. The fairways were OK but that is as good as I can give it. This course just needs a lot of TLC.
The Legends Golf Course at Parris Island
Played On 04/15/2017Busy but fun course
A fun course to play, greens were fast but true. A very busy course on the week-end had to wait on almost every shot but still fun to play. For the price I can't complain. Got a Hot Deal along with using a reward. The weather was great and we hooked up with some locals who gave us some tips. Would like to play it again when maybe not so busy. Staff was great!
Pinecrest Golf Club
Played On 02/14/2017One of Brown's better courses off HHI
Considering the time of year Pinecrest is one of Brown's better run courses that is off island. The course itself is a fun course with plenty of challenges for the average golfer . The fairways and greens are in good condition considering it is February. The driving range and putting green is always in good condition and generally pretty busy because of that.
Island West Golf Club
Played On 02/08/2017Course needs a lot of TLC
Very challenging, greens and fairways need a lot of TLC. It is winter but other courses I have played in and around HHI are in much better condition. Got a really great price from GN which allows a lot of room for not being too critical. I suspect once spring and summer arrive course conditions will improve.
Tanners Brook Golf Club
Played On 11/13/2016good place to play late in the fall season
Considering how late in the season it is this is a good place to play. Not a lot of leaves that come into play unless you really are off-target. The course is well maintained and the greens are consistent and challenging. The 19th hole is always a good place to review the round and make future plans.
