Palm Desert Resort Country Club
Played On 12/11/2019Scruffy round the edges
The service is not up to scratch. No starter so getting on the first tee was a bit confusing.aggressive announcements to staff overheard atbag drop. Areas that used to be lakes now drained and looking scruffy. Fairways not is as good condition as other courses we have played.standard of green keeping not great. Native areas scruffy. Greens smooth and true but a bit slow

Dove Valley Ranch Golf Club
Played On 12/04/2019A good track
This is a good, fair test of golf
No silly run offs or impossible pin positions. The greens are tricky, but consistent speed and a true roll. If your ball is on the fairway, or just off, you always get a good lie. We didn't use the bar today, but the staff are great here anyway. Play here whenever you can, you won't be disappointed. I would like to take this course back to the UK.
Verrado Golf Club - Founders Course
Played On 12/02/2019A course in great condition
The course is in great conditions. Never a bad lie anywhere, sand traps fair and well raked and even paced greens that were true and flat. You can’t ask for more
ChampionsGate Golf Club - International
Played On 12/11/2015top quality course
We got a hot deal from goldnow, so value was very good. On arriving at the first, a single player joined us, and that helped with our pace of play, as we may have been held up as a two ball.He had alreadsy played 18 on the National course, and was given a second round for $15, so if you are mad keen and fancy 36 holes, ask for a deal like he got.The course is exceptionally well bunkered, has subtle borrows on the greens and has a good selection of tees to suit all standards of player, although the forward tees were a bit too long for my wife. At almost 5700 yards, it is far longer than most ladies'courses. There is quite a lot of water around, but nothing too challenging if you play the right strategy. Greens were true, with a decent pace. Fairways in great condition. Our partner did tell us that the greens on the National were even better, so they must be great. All in all, it was a really good day out.
Thank you JohnLB for taking the time to review our course. We are thrilled that you had such a great experience and we look forward to seeing you again very soon!
Windermere Country Club
Played On 12/09/2015To close this course would be sacrilege
We arrived at the course to see an announcement that it will close in March. Apparently, the owner wants to develop housing on it. I thought the course may be in need of attention because of this. We went off ahead of a large group of members, and thought we had better get a move on. Pace of play was not a problem, as there is little rough, and we got round the course in 3 hours and 5 minutes. I can't remember the last time I did that anywhere. The course was in great condition overall, despite the greens having had a light top dressing. They putted well at a decent pace. The course is tree lined, and very well designed, with bunkering that is reasonably demanding without being too difficult.
Overall it was a joy to play, and to close it would be
a sacrilege. I don't know how old it is, but the whole layout is attractive, with a nice mix of dog legs winding you through the trees. It all looks very mature, and was the most attractive of the 10 courses we played during our recent holiday.in Orlando.
Grande Vista Golf Club
Played On 12/04/2015Not a real golf course
We played the course as I saw a hot deal on golf now and we are staying on the resort. Despite the low price, it is still poor value. If you paid the price they ask, 49 dollars, you would be very disappointed. It is very short, it is overwatered, the greens are sluggish. The practice facilities are fantastic, and I suppose if you have had a lesson, it's a decent place to practice your game, but it is poor value über all when you look at what is available nearby
RedTail Golf Club
Played On 12/02/2015Worth the trip
We are staying in lake buena vista but we're happy to drive the hour to sore to to play red tail again. We were following a four all, so expected to be held up, but got round in four hours. why don't fourballs let two balls through? The course was in good condition, with the only problems caused by players taking carts into wet areas. The greens were evenly paced and in good condition throughout, as were the bunkers.
Diamondback Golf Club
Played On 02/22/2014Not improving
we played a couple of weeks ago and put the conditions down to the poor weather. The recent good weather hasn't worked any magic. the course is tight in landing areas, with narrow fairways and hazards, so when you do avoid these and play to the green, you have a right to a decent putting surface. There is a tremendous amount of sand on the greens, and some of them are like patch work where new turves have been put in. If you are just off the fairway, you are in lost ball territory, or are playing from a sandy lie.i couldn't recommend the course unless it improves dramatically in condition. In top condition, this would be a very good course. As it is, it's a poor course.
Eagle Dunes Golf Club
Played On 02/20/2014An open challenge
The greens were, as advertised, very true, and in very good condition. The fairways were also in very good conditions. There are no sand hazards here, just large waste areas. The course is very open, with few trees, so a wayward shot goes largely unpunished. However, the contouring around the greens means a lost shot if you miss. the course is a long way out, but the journey straightforward along quickj roads with few traffic lights. - .about an hous from Celebration.
Deltona Club
Played On 02/18/2014A very good golf course
I played off the no 2 tees-about 6500 yards. The course is a great layout, with variation on every hole. several elevated tees, several raised greens, some two tier greens and some very undulating greens. Good dog legs - no two holes the same. Nice run on the fairways. The greens were quite quick, and I found them difficult to read. Perhaps there is a nap, and we don;t have that at home. The only area` of the course I would criticise is the fairways. I thought they we a bit too dry, and suffering because of it. Better than the usual Florida over-watering, but they are not recovering quickly enough on a course that clearly gets a lot of wear. Otherwise, I thought this a really spendid course, and worth the long trip-although, having said that, it is a very straightforward drive from the south to get to the course=up the I4, turn right, turn left, turn right and you are there.
The Legends at Orange Lake Resort
Played On 02/15/2014A cracking course
The course was in excellent condition. despite some of the grasses on the greens being in hibernation mode, the greens putted beautifully, with a consistent pace (quite quick) and lovely even roll. The undulations around the green presented clever hazards, and the sand traps drew a misdirected ball. the greens held a good shot. The fairways were in good condition, with a decent amount of roll. After the midweek downpour, they were in far better condition than you would expect. You could play this course every day and not get bored.
Not a great day to judge
We played the day after a storm which dumped 2 inches of rain on the course. Some fairways were affected, but the course was in surprisingly good condition. The big problem was the wind and chill. The greens are slick and true, but it is difficult putting in heavy wind, and this made difficult greens very difficult.I thought the course was great, but the traffic noise is a drawback on several holes.
Mission Inn Resort & Club - El Campeon Course
Played On 02/07/2014A prooer golf course
This is a really well designed course with different challenges from each level of tee(Black, Blue, Green Red, etc). There is a great variation of hole types, with the undulating countryside being used to its maximum potential. We played in a spell of poor weather-cold, and drizzly for several days before our visit) but the course was in great condition despite this.. We got a great deal on the day, and I hope to play it again before we go home,
Alaqua Country Club
Played On 02/05/2014Good but wet
The work being done on the course is` not disruptive. Conditions underfoot were very wet-much moreso than other courses we have played. the fairways were in good condition despite the wetness. Traps were good. Greens were good, but I thought there was a` lack of care in the way some were cut.. The surroundings are very beautiful, and we will visit again.
Providence Golf Club
Played On 01/25/2013A course for all players
With 5 tees, the course offers a challenge to all categories of player. Fairways were in great condition, and greens quite good with consistent pace. The first 9 go mainly through the housing development, and the second 9 through lovely countryside, so if you are having an off day with the clubs, at least you have a greatr nature ramble. Lots of birdlife, with several gators to view. Several of the greens are raised, and present a well balanced challenge. The clubhouse staff were very welcoming, and I believe they do a two for one dining experience on Friday evenings. A good value day out, and easy to find, just South of Celebration.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us, John. We are going to pass on your feedback to the teams in charge so they can work to make changes. Thanks for visiting Palm Desert Resort Country Club. We hope to see you again in the future.
