Needing better maintenance

First three times playing FH the conditions were great, recently played and conditions were deteriorating.. Have played quite a few courses this year and because of all the early rain and warm temps lately the majority of these courses are in top shape, probably the best I've ever seen. Not the case with FH. Many parts of fairways were browned out and burned and concrete greens were chewed to bits with ball marks galore. Hate to come down on this absolute beautiful course but just stating the obvious. Was really surprised at the condition of the course. Don't believe it should take much to get it back up to snuff. Other than the condition, the pace of play was great and staff members pleasant and respectful.

Hidden Gem

If Raceway was closer than an hour from home, I'd play this course much more often. Have played this course about 10 times since 2012. This course is a real bargain for $38.00 walking after 1PM on a weekend. Great layout, a few water holes, a few doglegs, some tight but not menacing holes, some short and some long par 4s, but most of all - great hole designs, each hole very different from one another - really is a hidden gem in Northeast CT. Hot dog shack on 13th teebox, drinking water every fifth hole or so. Condition of the course is above average and the greens are usually on the slow side. Because there are only a few public courses in this neck of the woods, I do believe this course does get a lot of play so therefore pace of play may be slower than most courses.
