The Cascade at Gold Mountain Golf Course
Played On 5/19/2013This is the best course for the price in Western Washington.
You cannot beat this course for the price. It is owned by the taxpayers of Kitsap County, but you would never know it. The two courses are very different in appearences and difficulties. This by far and wide my favorite course in this area.
White Horse Golf Club
Played On 3/17/2013It was one of the Largest Courses in our area. Pathways are in perfect shape, with wooden bridges to perfect, yet challenging fairways.
The course was in great shape for mid-March, the New club House was something to behold. The course is very challenging, yet holds the vast beauty of this area. Firm, non-raised, rolling greens offer great difficulty to the overall course. If you enjoy walking, it can be accomplished with minor effort, but I prefer using a cart, and slowly taking in the signs of nature readily available. I've only played here twice but had a great experience both times. This course has a tendency to raise one's average though.
Horseshoe Lake Golf Course
Played On 3/15/2013March weather was not friendly to this course.
The front nine on this course are easy to walk, the back nine I strongly recomend using a cart. Raised greens are in strong need of this course with the amount of standing ground water throughout the 18 holes.
It was unfortunate that we had many of our drives sink in to the ground do to the condition of the fairways. I found it to be a course of fair to midland for the area that I live. Maybe it dries out more in the summer?
The ease of play lends itself more to the beginning to average golfers. I would recommend this course to someone just wanting to go have a good time with close friends.
The restaurant and bar were closed while I was there, the have a sign that they have applied for a liqour license, so maybe they have plans for the future.
