Doomed from the start

Round took over 5 hours, conditions weren't good. Bunkers rock hard, very sparce in the fairways, greens were decent.

Played before 8am on Saturday morning, round began with us being stuck behind a 3some that was late, and having to wait for the last player to get to the tee box. We were stuck behind them to whole round, and never once saw a ranger). Greens/tee boxes were in the best shape in years, fairways are a running joke with most locals, they need alot of work as multiple ones had large bare spots and others were patchy at best. Not alot of fun to have to try to find a patch of weeds to hit a shot off instead of a patch of wet mud.

Terrible condition even for $8

Let me start this off with saying the staff was absolutely top notch from the clubhouse to the restaurant and was the only bright spot of the round.

Course was in awful shape even for the price. Unlike some we werent expecting to be playing a county club layout, but when the teeboxes have barely any grass, greens have more bare spots then green, and has more water on the fairways then in the lakes it's a problem. We played an early morning tee time as a 4some, played the first 2 holes with no wait and then ran into a 2 some that played a pace of a group of 6 and refused to speed up play or sit out a hole and let us pass.

We only played 12 holes due to the overall state of the course, and poor weather on the way. If it weren't for the excellent staff it would have been far worse.

Downhill in a hurry

If it wasnt for the $10 hot tee time, this would have been a disaster. The first 4 or 5 greens cant barely even be called that, more mud and leaves than grass. Greens over the remainder improve, more so on the back 9. Fairways/tee boxes in decent shape. Pace of play was great seeing as no one was on the course (3 hour 15 minute round for 3some). Worth the money for $10 and thats about it.

Would stay away until conditions improve.

Only positive was staff was friendly.

No ranger

Ive heard rave reviews about this course from friends and family. We went a week or two after an extreme cold weather snap in florida, this being said most of the fairways were dead and frostbitten which is what we expected. To our surprise the greens and tee boxes were in quite good shape. We had a mid afternoon tee time, got there 2 hours early had lunch and hit a few buckets of balls before our round. We noticed on the driving range that there was a long line to tee off and were hopeful it was just walk on's.

The course was extremely busy and we had to walk around the practice facilitates until it got closer to our tee time which was not a problem. We got our cart 15 minutes before our tee time(1:31pm)and went and spoke with the starter and he informed us they were a little behind and it wouldn't be any longer then a 5 minute delay. We didnt tee off until 1:55. We saw at hole 2 it was going to be a long day. We arrive at the par 3, 4th some time later to see there was a 4 some on the green, another 4 some on the tee box and 3 other groups of 3/4 in front of us. After almost 100 minutes on the course we finally finish the 4th hole. I have yet to see a ranger/Marshall on the course and call the course phone number, i inquire about this with the gentlemen who answers the phone he says there is no ranger out but he would send someone(he asks for our group name and cart # so he could send someone to fix the problem and then speak with us).

Long story short no one ever comes nor does the pace of play improve. We ended up playing the 15th(Signature hole on course)/16th in almost darkness and not being able to get even attempt the 17th/18th. It was quite a shame how poor our experience was at such a great course.

An overall frustrating day.

great deal for the money

One of the shorter courses in the area, but it is well maintained. a few rough spots on 2 or 3 greens. But most fairways are nicely groomed and lush. Can't beat the course for the money. Anywhere from $10 to $20 cheaper then area courses.
