We had an almost perfect day; great weather, no one in front slowing us down or pushing from behind; it was a very enjoyable day. But it wasn't because the golf course was great. The course is in I won't say "poor" but certainly below average shape. The worst thing is the greens. To varying extents they are being invaded by a grass different from the Bermuda which makes bumps all over the place. So much so that on some of the greens your putt is going to pretty much be a random line towards the hole. The ball will be bouncing and changing directions--a lot. If you decide, "putting is simply not going to important in this round," you can have a nice, economical walk. If scoring is important to you, I would recommend you play elsewhere.

I know the rains, especially the tropical storm Idalia, made it impossible to mow for a few days, but that wasn't a surprise. They should've mowed in preparation. I exaggerate not--I've played courses with fairways better to putt on than the greens at Rose Hill.

I've been playing several courses in Hilton Head area in Feb and March. Old South is by far in the best shape. IT HAS GRASS! If you'd rather NOT continually have a hardpan lie in or off the fairways, I highly recommend Old South, at least until the other courses get their grass growing.

If you only care about the greens, you'll love Barony right now. But if you don't like hard pan lies no matter where you are, then wait for the grass to grow at Barony. It's one of our favorite courses on HH, but they're charging based on time of year, not the condition of the course. It's pretty ratty around the greens and fairways may be greenish, but the grass does nothing to keep the ball off the dirt.

They should not have had the back 9 open for play. It’s a mess. Front 9 ok, but I’d say it’s overpriced for the condition the course is in right now.

It was a perfect day for golf, and the course delivered too. Great greens, interesting layout. Not too difficult. They should include a shorter teebox than 5700 yds. It was very long for my wife, but even she enjoyed it. They said they had a "family tee" but didn't.

It's a beautiful course, and was in great shape, but you better hit the ball in the fairway. Especially on the front 9, there is water on virtually every hole, and bunkers on the other side. Often what appears to be a good t shot finds the hazard anyway. If you aren't real accurate, especially off the tee, you'll be dropping a lot. If you're hitting em where you're aiming, you'll have a wonderful time, otherwise, bring lots of expendable balls. We picked the Baytowne because the reviews said the Links course was tight--I can't imagine what it would be like.

The course was in fine shape in fairways and greens. Off the fairways it was pretty junky. Staff is friendly enough, the course is simply unremarkable. There is nothing to remember about it after you've played it. We only played it because the wonderful Jack Nicklaus course was closed.

A course like this can spoil you for when you play on "regular" courses. I got a "steal" on a GolfNow HOT DEAL--as a single I paid $40. The course was EMPTY, I played it in 3 hrs, and was taking my time, especially on the perfect greens. My experience can't be normal, but bottomline, the course is GREAT, conditions are perfect. I'd love to play it with some buddies.

I was a single looking for a quick round, played in 3 hrs (2 kind foursomes let me play thru). On GolfNow the prices was great. The course sets up for a draw, which I loved. Greens were excellent.

Stonehenge is a really good course. Great condition and very interesting layout but not too difficult to frustrate the double digit handicapper. Just beware of members; they tend to be very rude. The staff is great.

This course was in great shape, especially the greens ( a bit slow but expected with so much moisture). But all the greens are elevated so if you don't get the ball high on approach expect to miss a bunch of greens.
