make sure you are straight off the tee. Every green breaks, even when it looks straight.
Glacier Greens Golf Club
Played On 02/08/2016Great Greens
In the past, we've always had a great round at Glacier Greens, primarily because of their great greens. I've played a tournament there in the pouring rain and the greens were dry. This was no exception - However, the rest of the course was sopping wet.
I haven't played in the winter there much, but the deal was too good to pass up. We drove up from Nanaimo to Comox (bout an hour) but we were surprised to see how wet the fairways were. It was nearly impossible to find a dry spot and you had to pick the ball clean each time, or you were getting splashed with mud.
Looking forward to playing it in drier weather.
FYI - the canteen is closed in the winter, so bring your own bev's.
Fairwinds Golf Club
Played On 01/14/2016Great Winter Golf
Course was in great shape for playing in January. Only downside was the greens. Fairwinds usually amazing greens, but we got there after they had just sanded and the ball was not rolling and breaks were unreadable.
However, the course was fairly dry and we played 22 holes in 4 hrs. (yeah we sneaked a few extra cause it was so quiet on the course)
