Hill Country Golf Club - Lakes/Creeks
Played On 04/14/2018Nice venue
I took advantage of a Hot Deal and the cost was reasonable. The pace of play was excellent--a Saturday morning and we rarely even saw the group ahead of us, and no one was nipping at our heels. The course conditions were very good. The greens were a mystery--lots of subtle breaks I couldn't see. NOT a course for walking. The layout of the three nines means long distances between a green and the next tee. I would play here again, but only on a discounted rate. If I had paid the full-freight I would have been disappointed in the experience.
Cedar Creek Municipal Golf Course
Played On 04/13/2018Great Muni
First, I wouldn't try walking this course it is very hilly. The staff was helpful letting me tee off on the back 9 rather than snail around the course behind a group of 20 guys--some of them playing their one round a year. Lots of elevation changes. Course conditions were very good. The greens were in good shape--not great. Watch out for #5 which tees off up hill, but falls off quickly on the other side. I waited until the group in front of me crested the hill, but I hit into them because of the steep down-grade. I mentioned to the staff that the course needed some system for alerting the group on the tee about the position of the group in front. This is a great value for a muni. If I lived in San Antonio, I would be my regular course.
