Golf Club of Dublin
Played On 05/30/2022Golf Club of Dublin
Played On 05/30/2022Fun course, enjoyable round
Played GC of Dublin several years ago and remembered very little. Course was in very nice shape, greens and fairways to excellent condition. Course was very busy so pace of play was a bit slow, probably a touch over 4 1/2 hours. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Look forward to returning next time I'm in Columbus.
Francis Byrne Golf Course
Played On 06/20/2021Great condition
The course condition was as good or better than I’ve seen it in the last eight years. Got out early and played in under four hours. Beautiful day.
Harkers Hollow Golf Club
Played On 05/08/2021Enjoyable track
I'd seen positive stories about Harkers Hollow's revitalization and wanted to check it out. Fun round, the course is scenic, in nice condition and challenging, especially for the first time playing there.
Small greens require plenty of precision on your approaches and rolling terrain/elevation changes on many holes means you will often have tricky lies above/below your feet.
HH is a good value, less pricey than nearby Architects. The proximity of the two courses does offer a potential 36-hole HH/Architects golf day for those who might make the somewhat lengthy trip out from NY/Northern NJ metro area.
Neshanic Valley Golf Course - Meadow/Lake Course
Played On 10/11/2020Consistently enjoyable
Neshanic never disappoints, and I've been playing there since it first opened. Busy day but pace was good with groups properly spaced. The conditions were top-notch.
It is a bit pricey for out-of-county golfers but worth it for the occasional treat-yourself round.
Virtues Golf Club

I consider the Virtues a must-play whenever I'm in the Columbus area, and you should, too. Pleasant staff, superior course conditions and a fabulous design by Arthur Hills.
This is the sort of special course where you'll remember every hole long after your first round. Well-measured doses of drama within a routing that uses the rolling terrain and natural, abundant prairie vegetation like a curtain that raises to reveal each hole just as you reach the tee.
The 400-yard-plus par-4 eighth is a gem, temping a drive that favors the right side, to a steep, swooping right-to-left pitched fairway, which then presents a downhill approach to a thumb of a green surrounded by water. From the tee, it looked like the safe route. Upon arrival, you may face the mother of all hanging lies and a backdrop where it's hard to see anything but the water around the green.
The other option is to challenge the left side with a longish carry from the tee, over scrub to a fairly ample landing area. From a flatter lie, that will leave a wedge or high iron approach, but almost all carry over water. The number 3 handicap hole, it feels like a victory to be putting for birdie, and very satisfying to make par.
Play this course. And then play it again. It's even better when you can enjoy it with someone experiencing The Virtues for the first time.
Airway Meadows Golf Course
Played On 07/07/2018Memorable Layout
This is a solid course to play on a visit to the Saratoga area. Nice staff, well-maintained and a very pleasant round of golf.
Situated around a small landing strip gives the course a little flair. For me, Airway Meadows was one of those rare courses where I can remember every hole after a single round, especially the more open front nine and particularly the par-3 third which requires a long downhill carry.
Interesting par 5s, including No. 18 which also requires a long carry on the drive. Fun course, look forward to playing again.
Francis Byrne Golf Course
Played On 04/11/2017Good Spring Conditions
Recent rain got the course a little soggy but it's had a couple days to dry out and is growing in nicely. Greens in good shape. A lot of trees/brush cleared throughout, especially behind par-3 5th hole; between 14th green and 15th tee. Went out around 3pm and finished 18 by 6:20pm which was a treat.
Started as a single then guy in a cart caught up to me at No. 2. Ever play with someone who has no regard for the signs indicating where carts are supposed to leave the fairway? Him on every hole.
Old Corkscrew Golf Club
Played On 04/13/2016Tricky Greens, Very Nice Golf Course
Course is great condition, challenging greens, fast but true. Keep your ball out of palmettos. Play with someone who knows the course if you can.
johnnyship, thank you for your kind words! We hope to see you again at the course very soon for another 5-star experience. Thanks for choosing Francis Byrne Golf Course.
