Played On 11/17/2023Fun track
Instead of 9 or 18, you can play 12 or 18. For Florida geezers like me, 12 holes is awesome!
Improvements are continuous. New putting green next to hole #1. All the markers freshly painted this week. New signage at each hole. The best sand of any bunkers I’ve ever played.
Personnel are very accommodating. Outdoor seating spruced up, restrooms we’ll appointed and very clean.
Best of all, it’s a fun layout. And you can’t beat the price.
The Bridges at Springtree Golf Club
Played On 07/27/2023Give the superintendent a raise
Didn’t realize it was an executive course, but it was good to work on iron shots.
The greens were magnificent! Fairways very nice. It’s not in the best neighborhood, but the course far outshines it’s surroundings.
Island Pointe Golf Club
Played On 07/09/2023Best course in the area
Loved the terrain. River and mountains. No homes (maybe one). Every hole was different and scenic.
Course was in very good condition. Pace if play was great.
We also played Gatlinburg GC and Sevierville GC. All were nice, but this was a very enjoyable course.
Island Pointe Golf Club
Played On 07/09/2023Fantastic experience
Outstanding golf experience. Not resort pristine—better. Very well maintained, scenic. Great layout. No two holes alike. Played early, no wait.
Also played Gatlinburg GC and Sevierville. Island Pointe should be your first choice.
Charlotte Harbor National Golf Club
Played On 01/14/2021Course Condition Disappointing
Always loved the layout. Course conditions have deteriorated to a disappointing condition. Winter rates make this especially difficult to justify playing there.
Hope things turn around. We need great courses!
Charlotte Harbor National Golf Club
Played On 09/11/2018Fantastic improvements to an already great course
Hadnt played course under new management. Pricier than most courses in off season. Got a great deal today and what a great golfing experience. Brand new carts with GPS, USB plug, great signage at each hole, fantastic bunkers, improved landscaping. Pace was perfect. Course condition very good. A few of the greens have minor rough spots, but they were true and perfect speed.
Always considered this a great layout--with improvements made, it may be in the top three area courses.
Claremorris Golf Club
Played On 07/18/2018Play here--you'll love it!
A month in Ireland and played a lot of golf. Some high-end (prices) courses and "local." When we got to Galway, we decided to see what was available in the area. For location, we picked Claremorris Golf Club, (Claremorris, County Mayo).
The best golf experience we had! Very hilly, heavily treed, and some very challenging holes. Layout was especially challenging for our first time.
Everyone was so friendly. We met everyone who walked in the door in the pub area. Clearly, members are very proud of their course, and should be. Especially gracious was Billy, a volunteer who was amazing.
Arrowhead Pointe At Lake Richard B. Russell
Played On 05/19/2018An extraordinary golf venue
Richard B. Russell State Park is so beautiful (typical of an Army Corps of Engineer development). The golf course layout was spectacular. Lots of holes close to the lake. Fairways not too wide (helpful when cart-path only).
Well stocked pro shop; great concessions. Apparently, they have cottages for rent that are also part of a golf package. Saw several groups of guys who said they were staying there.
Grass in the fairways was quite thin. I have no idea what type of grass they have. However, the greens were perfect!
Gorgeous course; great price. If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely play it.
Sapelo Hammock Golf Club
Played On 05/16/2018Off the beaten path
I wanted to play a round between Brunswick (St. Simon's Island) and Savannah. Golf Now reviews for Sapelo Hammock were outstanding. 1) It was quite a distance from the interstate, and not worth the drive. I would like to know what was so special about this course to garner the high ratings. When we arrived for a 9:20 AM tee time, we commented to staff that there weren't many cars in the parking lot. The response was, "Oh, there are already four people out there."
One lady handled the snack bar/check-in. Very pleasant.
The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort
Played On 05/15/2018Location Listed is Confusing
The address through Golf Now is 100 Tabbystone, St. Simons Island, GA. However, the actual address is 180 Rice Mill, St. Simons Island, GA. I think the original course closed (part of the King and Prince Beach (and Golf Resort), and opened 25-30 minutes away in a residential development.
Other than the frustration of trying to find the course, it was a decent layout, great pace of play. Nothing extraordinary.
Great layout and pace of play
Consistently great condition. Fairways are great; greens challenging. Love the layout.
Twin Isles Country Club
Played On 10/19/2017Great layout and pace of play
They need to invest some money in fairway and bunker maintenance. Course layout and greens were great. Nice driving range, putting green, clubhouse bar. Rough was water grass and difficult. Of course, I was in the rough a lot. Bunker sand was plentiful and soft, but a lot of small rocks and rakes were inconvenient. Overall, worth a visit.

Played On 05/22/2017Exceptional shape in this drought
There is a lot of water on this course, especially if you are playing the first or second tees. But water is taken out of play on most of the the senior and ladies tees.
Easy to get to the green in regulation. Considering the lack of rain up and down the gulf coast, this course was in fantastic shape. Perfect tee boxes, fairways and greens. They must have a deep pond.
Heron Creek Golf and Country Club - Oaks/Marsh Course
Played On 04/20/2017Tournament slowed us down
I love this course and it is in better shape right now than any other course in the area. And thank goodness the rates have started to drop. It's out of my price range "in season."
Normally, I would give Heron Creek a 5-star rating for pace of play, but there was a club tournament going on. It wasn't bad on the first nine, but we were in middle of it on the back. Arrrrrrrggggggh.
Seminole Lakes Country Club
Played On 03/22/2017Executive Course
Who knows why this course, surrounded by very nice homes, is in such poor shape. Not enough resident members? Poorly managed?
Tough to find grass in the fairway. Tee boxes were in terrible shape.
Twin Isles Country Club
Played On 01/04/2017Leave it for members only
Previous year playing the course it was in better shape, but not a huge difference.
We were a foursome and teed off behind a SINGLE, who was following a foursome. After third hole, asked if he would like to join us. Initially thought that would create a stink with the staff, he did join us.
Waited on every shot on every hole.
As non-members, we weren't prepared for "cash only" in the bar after. One and done.
Riverwood Golf Club
Played On 08/01/2016Beautiful layout and condition; pace was slow
One of my favorite area courses, especially in the summer when I can actually get a tee time! The foursome (members) in front of us had NO one in front of them, and several groups behind. The marshal should have asked them to let us play through. We waited on every shot, every hole.
Usually very friendly employees. Maybe the regulars were on vacation. The bag drop, pro shop and starter were "meh."
