Upland Hills Country Club
Played On 10/28/2023serviceable
2nd off at 7am. 6:50’s teed off 6:57ish and were searching about 100yds off the box for their errant shots. So got off to rough start. Had the group behind us breathing down our necks all round. If you had told me Upland had a thunderstorm the night before I would’ve believed you, either the drainage system doesn’t work here or they water the fairways literally all night! Many many puddles in fairways and several bunkers. Felt very saturated everywhere on the course.
The good : since we’ve been here they’ve put in GPS in the carts. Upland hasn’t (yet) fallen into the trap most courses have which is inflation/price gauging their customers. $63 on a weekend is decent. And the greens were smooth albeit running a tad slow.
Oak Valley Golf Club
Played On 10/07/2023Invest in some mowers
Courses should not even have tee times avail before sunrise. Why? Because of what happened to us at Oak Valley. 6:20 group was still putting on the green at 6:50! Which means there is 0 chance they teed off at 6:20. When we asked the starter he just said “they play quick you’ll never see them again”. Correct. But now we are starting 10-15 minutes late as the 3rd group off! Not only that but we had a 3some on our tail all morning.
Now to the conditions. This course was closed for a bit I’m assuming for aeration and maintenance. Funny because the first cut of rough was so thick balls were being lost all round. All four of us were searching for our golf ball on #9. These shots are not even OB, they are barely missing the fairway. I get making missing the fairway penal, but this isn’t the US open; cut your rough back!
The kid at the pro shop was half asleep upon checkin and I could barely understand him as he was mumbling. I got attacked by mosquitoes at the makeshift restroom by the driving range. Our group may take this course out of our rotation for a while until they get their act together.
Dos Lagos Golf Course
Played On 09/02/2023Good times
Got paired with a couple that made the round very relaxing/enjoyable. Bunkers in need of love and several blue tee boxes are busted up. Other than that, the checkin process was quick. Starter efficient and informative. Greens had many dead patches but were above average. Will be back!
Yucaipa Valley Golf Club
Played On 08/19/2023Locals only !
Bunkers were embarrassingly bad. Had a group behind us teeing off from the whites hitting into us all day. Rough needs to be trimmed, fairways had several mounds of weeds growing. Greens were painfully slow (had been aerated; would’ve been nice to know). Played with a couple and it was also painfully slow to watch a female beginner with no golf etiquette and the man/husband not informing her of proper pace/etiquette. Think this is def a 4+star facility for the locals but think I’ll pass from here on out
Oak Valley Golf Club
Played On 05/20/2023coming along nicely
Oak Valley has always been in our playing rotation. We drive past many other courses to play here. Don’t understand the bad reviews about a restaurant not being open or a cart girl not being available, that’s never really a factor for our group, we care more about the course and pace.
Highlight of our round was the Marshal Greg being present on the course and asking us as paying customers if there’s anything they can do to improve. That’s everything this day and age! Service goes a long long way! Kudos to Greg.
Can the rough be cut back a little? Sure. Have the fairways been more lush in the past? Sure. What gives this course it’s character is the isolating feel of each hole. No teebox is near another green (maybe 2&3 but that’s it). And the fact you need to hit fairways to avoid the thick rough. Course is fun, never seems overcrowded (I’d maybe space out tee times 10 min apart rather than 8) and we were impressed with Greg the marshal. Will be back soon

Played On 12/18/2022Dead fairways and odd checkin process
6:40 tee time; arrived at 6:25 to see 3 carts by hole 1 green. Foursome putting at practice area and chatting with starter until 6:35. Proceeds to tee off and play at about a 4:45 pace. So now us (3rd off) are now behind.
The fairways have yellow dead grass and many dirt patches. Why would ANY of these holes be cart path only? Greens are lightning quick and maintained but had many unrepaired pitch marks.
There was a strange odor in the lobby next to the restaurant/pro shop. Either a gas line had broken or someone set off a stink bomb
GolfNow rate was $110 and I wouldn’t play here again if it was free
Oak Valley Golf Club
Played On 09/17/2022Rough and native areas
The layout and most conditions at Oak Valley are great for the price point. The rough is very thick and hasn’t been cut in a while, so if you miss fairways you may lose your ball. I actually lost a ball on the downhill par 3 3rd hole because it was also a damp morning and my ball was either embedded or lost in this clover-type grass short of the green. Many of the native areas between holes could use some love as well, with the high IE winds looks like branches fall off the big trees and are just left laying around in the native areas. Bottom line we enjoy this course enough to drive past many other courses to play here. Definitely recommend just hit it straight!
Sierra Lakes Golf Club
Played On 08/21/20226:53 tee time and teed off at 7:05. How does this happen? Simple actually.
1. Tee times are spaced out only 8 min apart
2. Hole one is cart path only, so it takes time to go to your ball
3. Hole 1 is drivable for longer hitters so a lot of people wait to tee off.
If I’m teeing off late and I’m starting that early I can only guess how late mid morning and afternoon tee times are going out.
The course is maintained and is great for mid to high handicappers.
Also noticed the snack line was long when we made the turn , that can also cause a delay .. I shouldn’t be walking off that course at 11:40 with a 6:53 tee time. #justsayin

Played On 07/26/2022Great experience.
Obviously going off at the crack of dawn helps this review. But the staff was super friendly. I feel like the course was in great shape. It was relaxing to go out and practice my game on such a nice course. Obviously the first tee box looked like a circus when I left at 8:30 (does anyone work anymore?) but since it’s a short par 4 , maybe spread the tee times out a bit to help the congestion.

Played On 04/23/2022Desert Oasis
From the time you checkin until the time you leave, Desert Willow is a top notch experience.
Fairways were lush, tee boxes maintained and greens smooth and rolled true.
Guys at the Pro shop were professional and inviting /same with the starter. Highly recommend this course and can’t say enough!

Played On 04/09/2022Bang for the buck
Greens were great, guess they had been punched a few weeks ago. Fairways have been better but still really good. Pace of play being early in the morning was tremendous. 8 min between tee times and a short par 4 frost hole IS however how courses like this get into trouble as far as pace of play... Good course to work on your game -very forgiving. And while $89 is in no way cheap, it sure beats the farce of a price point Oak Quarry and some of the Corona courses are now charging.
Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon - Legends Course
Played On 12/11/2021Chilly ‘n windy
I guess we as golfers have to realize these courses aren’t going to maintain bunkers during the pandemic, Morongos are borderline unplayable. In addition I felt there were many dead patches near and around the greens. The facility /driving range is nice, the greens were in decent shape (save for unreparied pitch marks) and the scenery is nice. The holes are spread out enough where you also feel peace and quiet away from other groups. Also kudos for not price gauging during the pandemic like Oak Quarry and a few of the Corona courses…
Mission Hills - Gary Player Course
Played On 11/20/2021Aggressive locals
Course is recovering nicely from the overseeding. Greens will be great soon; they rolled a tad slow when we played. Guys in the cart barn are friendly enough, as well as the starter. My gripe is with the either homeowner locals or time share locals. Group in front of us we were told were “regulars” and teed off at 6:40 and were on a 2:30hr front 9 pace had a marshal not visited them twice , once on 6 and once on 7. The 6:30 was nowhere to be found in front of them; must be nice! At one point on the front 9 we got hit into from the group behind us because the group in front of us was playing so slow. Interesting after the marshal visited how the pace of play magically quickened…keep in touch with the group in front of you and there won’t be issues.
Journey at Pechanga
Played On 10/23/2021Will be back to excellent in a bit
Course had been closed for over seeding for a few weeks so greens not up to par yet; very sandy still. Fairways were wet so lift clean place was in play. Cart path only made it a long, strenuous day. Also the group that set the pace for the day (7:00am) finished at 12;30pm No marshal regulating pace of play to be seen

Played On 10/09/2021Priorities
People complaining about no cart girl or food need to get a grip. Course has been in better shape but still good enough. Tee boxes being seeded so a tad overgrown. Rough is penalizing so hit it straight. Greens were slow but that’s prob from the actual rain so cal received. Fun day and props to the 4some that let us jump them on the 6th hole. More golfers should have the etiquette these kids had.
Dos Lagos Golf Course
Played On 08/24/2021Fine for the price
6:08 tee time & 1st tee is stacked with 2 twosomes that refuse to join up. Groups behind us also refused to join up. No starter. Silver lining is they were all regulars & played fast. Fairways have been better but weren’t terrible. Greens pretty decent, lots of unrepaired pitch marks. Bunkers were awful, but that goes with the territory these days, haven’t seen too many maintained bunkers out there. Dos is one of the only courses I can think of that hasn’t price gauged their customers due to Covid so kudos for that. Would play again and recommend if you’re searching for a reasonably priced track

Great pace of play, great service from the starter. Fairways A-, Greens A, tee boxes B-
Keep the ball in play and you’ll have a good round. Native area will eat your ball for lunch and you’ll never find it.
Love this course, hidden gem on the way out of the IE headed east. Stomps on the Morongo courses across the freeway don’t @ me !

From the time you checkin , the service, views etc are top notch. Starters name is Vince and his customer service is great. Conditions of the course are close to resort level currently. Had a great time and recommend to anyone in the area to check it out.

Like others have said the rough is grown out. Your ball may be plugged or just buried. Good practice for playing out of the rough. Cart didn’t give any warning sign it was shutting off nor were there markers indicating carts weren’t allowed in certain areas. Had to reverse and back out of several spots. Overall it’s a decent track with some character to the holes, but pales in comparison to its neighbor across the freeway Oak Valley..
Thank you for taking the time to review us, u000004500659. Your feedback is valuable, and we look forward to delivering you excellent service again soon. Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon - Champions Course thanks you!

Repair your pitch marks on the greens. Scratch, 20-30 handicap it’s just manners and not that hard. Layout is forgiving. Staff is friendly. But the number one thing to do .......check the weather report for Fontana and if it’s windy, think about canceling. 5 miles in either direction could be calm but the area around the course gets WINDY. East of the 15 and north of the 210 tends to blow pretty hard so just beware
Thank you for playing Mission Hills North and leaving a review. We appreciate your feedback. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
