I’ve played the courses in this area many times. Black Bear is hands down the best
The layout is fun and challenging. You will be punished for a bad shot. Greens are narrow and course is links style
I’ve always been treated like a king and enjoy the food or beer after a round No snobs the people are down to earth
The ownership cares about your experience you can tell. Therefore they monitor pace of play and politely help out
At this moment, yes some of the greens experiencing water related trouble. But go anywhere else nearby and you’ll find they are better

Layout interesting and lots of strategic challenges
Fairways and Greens should have been in better condition. Too many tight lies which should have been easy wedge shots.
I'll come again

Course in beautiful shape. Greens recently aerated so watch for that but fairways teeboxes and layout are quality

Played On 09/18/2020Fun Layout Summer has been brutal
After a rain, the course was still extremely wet. Drainage should have been better, not slushing all over the fairways. To hard to get true shots when you're hitting out of a mud bath.
Tees in good shape, greens inconsistent, some fast some slow.

Good time. Greens slow and a few bumpy probably due to sand put down.

Excellent customer service (really liked the Pro Shop, polite nice service at the 9th hold). Greens very tricky (rolling hill type, some terraces). Fairways in average condition, very difficult to make par on the tough holes. Most holes straight up - driver, chip, two putts

course is well maintained for the time of year. some nice views.
I must admit, most of the holes are straightforward. the course could do a better job directing you on where the tees are and giving you a picture of the hold. I slightly didn't like that the 1st and the 18th hole butted up against the practice range.
