Shell of what it used to be

The King is turning over in his grave. This jewel of the south continues its downward spiral.
The greens and overall playability of this course are about the best they’ve been in the past 5-10 years, but that’s still not saying much. Many bunkers have been totally lost. And a couple of tee boxes are still nothing but sand.
Amenities are now non-existent (Covid has much to do with that I’m sure).
I would still say that $30 on a Saturday morning is worth the 30min drive to play. The layout is second-to-none in south LA.

AP Must Be Rolling Over In His Grave

Greens have come back very nicely. Overall course condition however, is “rough” at best. We caught it for $40 on a weekend morning and unfortunately I don’t believe it’s even worth that. What a shame, as this is undoubtedly the most interesting course layout in the state of Louisiana.

Golf, set in the heart of Old World New Orleans

So if you can get past the fact that this is an executive course (only a couple of par 4s and par 5s with remaining holes being par 3s), this is a wonderfully unique opportunity to recreate in historic Audubon Park. The setting is beautiful, with Loyola Church's steeple visible from all vantage points about the course. Some holes are lined with the backs of turn-of-the-century (or older even) Victorian, Colonial, Arts-and-Crafts, etc mansions which make this area of New Orleans a world-renowned destination. The course itself is very well kept. The greens do consistently run perfectly smoothly. There are centuries-old Southern Live Oak Trees on nearly all holes as well as a fair amount of water and elaborate bunkering. And the recently-renovated club house is a beautiful, and tasty, venue to enjoy a cocktail and lunch (or brunch) following a round. I certainly recommend this course to all who have never experienced it before. It will no doubt be a different experience than that of any other round of golf you have ever played.
