Awesome, everything just awesome.

1st time playing Coyote Crossing and even though it’s a 2hrs+ drive it was well worth it! We had vouchers for free play with carts and range balls and everyone was extremely accommodating from the pro shop to the starter and all others we encountered. I wish my area had a club this nice, it would be packed. Course layout was an excellent mix of holes, distances and severity. We played the middle tees which were perfect for us (mid-teens hcp). There are 5 sets of tees for all levels of players. Played in 4 1/4hrs which was a very enjoyable pace considering it was our 1st time. Course was well marked. The creek meandering throughout the course made you think your way around the course.
Bunkers were large but very playable.
Green were large and rolled extremely well and true.
An true gem for central Indiana. We will be back.

Typical Executive Course

Played with my fiancé (who is pretty new to golf) & had a real nice time. Perfect style of course for couples golf, nothing extreme or too difficult. The front 9 actually plays to a par of 34 which was a pleasant surprise; I was expecting hit irons all days from the tees.
The tee boxes were pretty chewed up as were a few greens but all in all a nice layout with very little hazards.
I would recommend it… but if you are looking for beautiful scenery and a challenging course, this is not it.

Weeds, weeds and more weeds…

Played the once bent grass fairways of Rolling Meadows & now all there are is weeds—clover, water grass & weeds. This place has fallen on hard times. The Liddy designed course is a fraction of what it used to be- nearly every bunker has been removed, the fairways have been re-sodded in strips of “turf” & the greens were marked up horribly. If you are looking for an inexpensive country course this is it, if you want a decently manicured & well maintained course go elsewhere.

Hills, hills & more hills...

Wow what a course, from the first hole to the last tee shot it just hits you square in the teeth!! Lots of hills & every green seems to play uphill & then add extremely narrow fairways and its a roller coaster ride for 18 holes. Would def be better after you had played a few times. We had 30mph north winds that made to 1st few holes tough as nails. After saying all that, we did enjoy our round, just more lost balls & missed putts than usual.
I would def play again, if ever in the area again.
Two words to the slicer/hooker-- don't play.

We Quit...

In all my years of playing golf (35+ yrs) I have never left in the middle of round... well we did at Hawks Tail.
As we sat on #15 tee box we were already 5 hours in, so it was going to be a 6+hr round plus the fact there was no water coolers avail on the entire course (90* & humid)-- we packed up and left.
The courses grass is awesome if you want a nice bluegrass lawn for a house, just not what you want for fairways-- way too high, too thick.
The back 9 is exceptionally long & not player friendly- they could shorten numerous back 9 holes 30-40yds and they would still be long holes.
We followed a two-some the entire front 9 that was getting golf instruction on the course as they "played" & never offered for us to go around (we were a two-some also).
I would not recommend nor play again, way too many better options in the Indy area market.
Some positives-- the greens were in very good shape & rolled well, yet kind of slow. We also liked the clearly marked yardages on the cart paths.

Nice day, awesome staff

Course was a little wet from all the recent rains & a little rough in places but all in all pretty nice for this time of the year. We will def be back once Spring time finally rolls around. The layout is very interesting (especially the last 5-6 holes). The staff could not have been nicer!

Nice subdivision course

Extremely straight forward course (not one dogleg in 18 holes) cut thru a subdivision— if you hit it left you are going to hit house after house!! Although the layout won’t win any awards the overall condition of the course was excellant. Greens held a well played shot & their pace was perfect. The contrast between the green fairways and the dormant grass/desert areas was quite dramatic. The sand traps were in good shape, considering the amount of play. We played in just over 4hrs and given the fact the place was packed, that was very good... It was a little slow getting started but after that it was smooth sailing. Nice course but there are better options of equal price in the Phoenix area that are more diverse & memorable....

Not bad for the price...

Place was absolutely packed!! I got paired with 2 younger guys who played the tips and it took 3 1/2 hours to play the front 9!! Played the back in 1 3/4 hours because so many people in front us quit!! There was a very nice starter and rangers, but it didn’t help, it was just SLOW!! The first 6 holes are just a bottleneck— if they flipped the nines it would def help spread groups out better!! The clubhouse is ok with a nice little snack shop at one end. About the course—the greens were rock hard; couldn’t hold a green at all, had to bounce the ball in to even have a chance to stop on the green. A lot of holes had front pins which meant putting down hill and that was nearly impossible to get the ball to stop. All in all a decent layout, just need to speed things (play) up and slow the pace of the greens down (which would undoubtedly help pace of play) and it would be a much more enjoyable complex. Pricing thru GN was really good given the time of year.

December Golf In Indiana...

Pretty amazing playing golf in central Indiana in late Dec in short sleeve shirts (some golfers had shorts on!).
Vincennes CC was in good shape considering it was so late in the year. Place was absolutely packed (high 60's in Dec will do that) but pace of play was great (3 1/2 hours). Course gets a little tight with tees/greens/fairways being extremely close on 14-16, so you have to have your head on a swivel & not take offense to any errant shots by others playing-- thats just part of it! Only drawback is restaurant is closed til March; but that makes sense given its supposed to be wintertime.
The back nine is extremely tight, actually looking forward to playing it again next spring/summer when the trees are full of leaves.
All in all a great day of golf... 4.5 out of 5 stars given the time of year!

Country course

Nice country style course.. nothing fancy, but has very good greens & GPS in carts which is always a plus. Pace of play is normally very good (around 3.5-4 hours). Course has some quirky holes so its a takes a couple of rounds to figure out the correct way to play some holes. There are numerous areas of elevation change which isn't common for central Indiana. It's a course that allows a good score, if you keep the ball in play-- driver off the tee isn't always the correct play! Again nothing fancy, but if you are looking for a nice, laid back round of golf this is def a great course to play.

Pleasantly Surprised

First time playing course, plus on a GN Hot Deal & was pleasantly surprised with the facility. Sure it was a little rough in places (cart paths/patchy fairways in places) but overall a very nice, laid back and friendly place.
Very interesting layout and extremely tight in places. Nice mix of different length holes and gentle doglegs.
Greens were a little slower than we are accustomed to but rolled smooth and true (very few bare spots). Greens were receptive to well struck approach shots, which isn’t typical of most courses in the area right now (due to dry weather). Def need to think your way around the course—it’s not just grab a driver and rip it... accuracy is a premium, especially on the back nine.
We really enjoyed our day and well def be back—soon & with some friends. Bravo the the Vincennes C.C. staff!!

Water... give me some water!!

Played on Sun 7/28 mid AM—85*/bright sun/humid/breezy. Wow has this course lost its luster!! Greens are baked out and bare in places, tee boxes are chewed up (looks like they never move tee markers), bunkers are concrete pits!! Seems like they have given up on the course and don’t care anymore. This used to be one of my fav travel destinations— not any more!! It’s bad and truly sad how a course can go from 4.5 to .5 in 2 short years!!
Now my main problem—NO water on the course & unbelieveably the course is packed (see weather conditions above). We get to 2 water jugs after #6-NO water (oh well). We get to water jug at #12–NO water; I call clubhouse and inform them that they have a course full of golfers & no water— I was assured it would be fixed (ok). We get to the same 2 jugs after #6 & now before #14-NO WATER!!! I call clubhouse and this time complain; after getting no where with the young kid I ask him to bring us out 2 bottles of water— he said they would—-NEVER DID!! Too bad they treat their golfers and paying public the same way they maintain and treat their golf course— like trash.
I won’t be back!! Was gonna bring a large group over in October to play— we will go somewhere else where they appriciate the customer and course. I would be embarrassed to be affiliated with this complex.
It was a disgrace.

Gettting much better...

In Oct, 2018 I wrote a review, giving Rea Park 2 stars at best. Alright time to give the golf course and the staff their due— it is tremendously better than last fall!! To be honest I’m amazed and impressed considering the condition it was in less than 9 months ago.
Let’s start though with the new pro shop staff— nice, pleasant & enjoyable to talk to (huge change). Next the course, the greens are great shape (always a little firm, but that’s part of the course) and are NOT lightening fast like most summers!! They are actually playable if you get above the cup. Fairways & rough are as they should be.
All in all pretty good, considering we had an extremely wet spring and now 3 weeks of no rain and high temps.
The back nine last year was a train wreck and it has come back better than I ever expected.
For a city course with not a lot of revenue coming in its a pretty darn nice place!! I would recommend in a heart beat.
Bravo to the staff— job well done!!

Huge Disappointment!!

We were so excited to play the one time private COUNTRY CLUB—- WOW were we disappointed!! Absolutely nothing about the place feels country clubish. The parking lot is in disrepair and the clubhouse and the golf paths, it’s a money pit and I wish the ownership/mgmt good luck. I don’t believe the fairway are watered, if they are it was pathetic.
The only, and I mean only, saving grace was the pace of the greens— very good and rolled well; but trying to hold one with a perfectly played wedge was nearly impossible. I was not a fan at all of the layout— drive a golf cart across a busy road TWICE—really. And #9 is a joke- can’t hit driver (from our tees) because of a lake on a Par 5–again really!!
If this place is in GOOD condition, as some of the recent reviews state, it must have been a true goat ranch before!! Don’t let the other reviews fool you— it is NOT worth the price under any circumstances.
Everything about the place is old and run down!!
Honestly I was embarrassed in how poor the place was and I’d never even been there before—- but never again!!
WOW.

Worth the 2 hour drive!!

Played on July 4th with my son and although it was a 2 hour drive it was well worth it!! Everything is first rate starting with the practice/driving range to the cart/cart paths to the friendliness of all the employees!! Fairways are fairly generous (except a couple of holes on back 9) and greens are medium to large and rolled perfect+ you could hold a green with a well played approach shot!! We were extremely impressed with the layout and flow of the course.
Wished we’d played it sooner than now, but we will be back again & bring some buddies along next time. To get a GN Hot Deal is a steal.
Trust me it’s worth the drive!!

Nice Course

Played on a Sunday--late AM and everything was perfect.
Walked in Pro Shop & checked in and went straight to 1st tee. Course is a bit of a "country" style course-- fairways and rough cut about the same height. I really like the Zoysia grass fairways. Layout is very nice and diverse-- holes #12 & #13 are great holes! Greens were excellent-- not a dead spot anywhere (greens or fairways). Played in under 4 hours which is good since the course was very busy.
We drove over an hour & will be back soon.

Perfect!

Course was in amazing condition for mid April!! Fairways/tees were green and freshly cut. Greens were a bit slow, which was surprising but rolled fairly true (had aerorated either late winter or early spring and some places hadn’t grown back yet). For once we played without wind which is def different. Water comes into play on 11 holes so it def keeps your attention.
All in all a perfect day and on GN Hot Deal we will def be back— soon. We just love the layout and diversity of holes! Just wish it was closer and my home course.

Nice Spring day

Plyayed for 1st time in a few years. They have cut down a lot of trees and cleaned up the whole course which is nice. Course was relatively wet due to rains on previous days so it played long. Some rough areas on the course but it’s early yet so those things can be expected. Greens were excellent. All in all a nice day at a nice course. And price was right—$15 on Hot Deal on a weekend is a steal.

Nice Layout

Played in early Spring and the course was in good condition (better than most others in the area). The fairways are zoysia grass and had yet to grow in from the winter. Greens were in very good condition. Of course due to time of year there was no roll and the course played very long, but fair. Cart paths are in great shape and clean. I would like to see some sandtraps/bunkers added in places to toughen the holes up a little but that is additional money and maintenance.
My least fav hole is the long par 3-14th, just seemed as though it was added to make 18 holes. One of the best holes is easily the par 5-12th; a great risk/reward hole.
All in all a very nice day at a very nice golf course— we will def be back.
